Although, you should really experience it for yourself since I have a pretty vague answer ;p. Emulation for free or payment on the epic games store, both are good choices for KH2 and more.

Just speedrun the game. It doesn't take long. You can easily start a new game and get there in one session. It only takes like 2 or 3 hours max to get to the middle of the game if you're skipping all the cutscenes.

The 1K heartless battle was THE moment in KH2 for me. The very first triangle for me was the "Superman dive bomb" attack whatever it's called, and EVERY SINGLE TIME it ended, there was another dive bomb triangle waiting for me to fit it. For 990 enemies, I watch Sora fly up into the air and come crashing down in their midst, like a bird of prey attacking a field of rodents. And as it happened, I thought about back in KH1 where this same kid was getting his butt beat by three of his friends with play swords. And at that moment, I realized that I had done this. That I had turned Sora the wimp into Sora the demi-god. And this was THE moment that the game started making *ME* feel like a complete badass. I recall that I started standing on my chair in excitement. Amazing game. Can't wait until KH3 finally comes out.

This is one of my favorite battle themes to this game I still have this game on PS2 since my childhood, and I still love playing this game. I'll say this in advance: here comes the hate! Here goes: I liked Birth by Sleep better than KH 2. Idk, just the way you had a deck, instead of having to go ro magic, and healing items and stuff. I also liked how you can play as 3 characters! (Personally, i prefer Aqua, then Ventus, and lastly terra) although most of the remakes of the themes for it aren't as good as the ones from kh 2. Still, "Unforgettable" and "the tumbling" add to the list of reasons as to why i prefer it over kh 2

honestly bbs was a great game they nailed the command deck imo the later games that had it seemed to not be as good with the deck but i still love kh2 over them all

Quite liked the 1000 Heartless battle when I first did it, but when you realise you literally don't have to do anything but spam triangle, it loses its appeal. I don't even like hard games but I feel like this should have actually had a lot more to it and been tougher.

Yeah In my last play through I did the whole thing without the epic triangle button. It takes forever but its a lot of fun! Only thing that sucks is that if you notice the heartless far from Sora are 2D models and just stand there while only like 40 heartless are actually pursuing you at once.

@austin5196 They wanted to, but I think there was a problem with sprites and the amount of resolution and data needed to make it possible. I think they could do it now for the PS3, but the technology just wasn't good enough to make it happen back then. Personally, I completely agree with you. That, and it should've been more than 1000, because with all the reaction command spamming, I took down all 1000 in like, 2-3 minutes.
