This is my take on Utada Hikaru's Passion, a song that is featured in the ever-so popular video game Kingdom Hearts II. I remember around the time that I made this video, and the years prior to it, boy did I get many requests to play this song! It was getting to the point where I just had to play it. So... I began saying "I have a surprise coming for everyone" in my video descriptions, until I built up enough hype to arrange, record, and post this for everyone! This was such a blast to play, and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

If I hadn't come across this video 7 years ago then I can guarantee that I wouldn't be playing piano today. I think I was 12 years old and I had been playing piano for about 4 years, but I really considered quitting because I felt like I wasn't getting any better at it and found no joy in it because I saw it mostly as a just a chore. Then one day I clicked on this video because Kingdom Hearts was my favorite game of all time and I was immediately incredulous the first two seconds and thought that this was just some wannabe punk who thought he could play piano. Holy shit, was I wrong. The time that lapsed between when he began playing and when he finished the song completely changed everything about how I felt about the piano. I never knew that this instrument could sound so beautiful. By then the only songs I could play were "Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars" and "Jingle Bells". But I was so entranced by this piece that I completely dedicated myself to learning it, and after one month of hard practice every day I was actually able to play it (albeit very poorly). Three years later I managed to perfect it and I played it for my music teacher in order receive a final grade for the class and she actually cried when I finished. Several years later I've learned countless Kyle Landry pieces, such as "Time", "First Step" and of course "Dearly Beloved", and some Animenz pieces like "Unravel" and "My Dearest", and right now I'm currently learning Chopin's "Winter Wind". But I always make sure to keep this piece engraved in my memory because it will always be the most dear to me. Today I love playing the piano and I couldn't live happily without it; and it's all thanks to this man and this particular video.

2020 and I'm still here. Almost 11 years since I discovered this masterpiece online. In all good and bad moments of my life since then, I come back here to listen, to reflect and relax. In all those years I've finished college, became a teacher and, after get tired of my ordinary life, I'm listening to this piece again inside of my bedroom in a almost 300 years monastery finally being happy with my decisions... And I hope when I die, my brothers of order remember to play this piece one last time. If you are worried about your future or just living bad days, I hope you find a safe shore here, just like I always found. (And I apologize for all grammar mistakes. Learnt this song a year ago for my music GCSE performance and I still play it to this day. Whenever I used to practice it in class people used to like stop working and listen to me and not going to lie I felt like a musical prodigy at the time. (Even though it wasn't my piece). It still gives me chills after playing it like the 100th time which makes Kyle my favourite pianist ever and if it wasn't for this piece, I would have gave up piano and never fulfilled my dream. This song inspired me to learn this song on the piano! It's only been about 2 weeks, and already have half of the song down! And I'm self taught! Never had any music or piano lessons, I teach myself on a keyboard ! So don't ever let anybody tell you it's too late, or you have no chance at learning something new! If you set your mind to it, are determined, and practice everyday, you can do it💯! I am, and I'm still learning, and growing everyday, and I'm proud of myself for not giving up! @yaragar hi! It's been about 3 months now, and i have improved so much on the piano, I actually learned the entire course of the song:). I've had had previous experience with reading music because I've been playing the violin for over 7+ years, so that's helped me out a lot. Honestly the best piece of advice I can give you is just practice practice practice I know the hardest thing for me transitioning from the violence the piano was playing the piano with both hands I've got so frustrated to the point where I wanted to cry but I just kept practicing and practicing and I finally got it down. Practice for at least 10 minutes each day and I mean for a girl that has had no piano lessons I've improved so much by being self taught. Also look at KZbin tutorials and maybe ordering music theory books online will really help you out:) but the best magic is practice & determination, and you'll be awesome at piano. Best of luck :) xx

This was the first video of Kyle's that I saw. It really inspired me to pick up the piano. I had one lesson when I was young but decided to become a percussionist instead. When I heard this melody it inspired me so much that my freshman year of H.S to pick up the piano again and learn. I'm here 4 years later and I just wanted to share my experience and story to share what Kyle gave to me. It is never too late be begin something you are passionate about. Kyle inspired me to play. I reached the level of state Solo and ensemble with Superior with Distinction ( The highest grade). I never had a direct teacher but Every upload of Kyle's kind of guided me as my inspiration and I hoped one day I would be at his level. I want to help inspire any young musicians about the wonders of music and pay it forward what Kyle did for me. I feel inspired and thankful to him for everything he helped me achieve. About 1,5 year ago, I heard this for the first time. I listened to it for days and decided I had to be able to play it. I couldn't play the piano at all, but for about half a year, I would sneak into my sister's room to practice on her piano whenever she wasn't home. By that time, I could just about play the whole song by hard (thanks to the synthesia, since I don't read notes), but I it still sounded bad and I made many mistakes. At first when my sister found out, she wouldn't let me play anymore for awhile, but eventually I persuaded her to let me. Now, after another year of practice (slightly less often though) I can just about play this song flawlessly and boy, was it worth it! Thank you so much for this song Kyle!!!

In 2011 I found this video and instantly fell in love. Throughout the years I would look back and still admire this piece. I don't really know what I'm doing with my life, it comes in waves on what I think I want. It will be a year in two months that I started to play piano and I'd like to think I'm improving. I was feeling anxious earlier this week and decided to listen to this piece to feel better. I have the sheet music saved in my links to eventually buy it so I can learn how to play it. Thank you Kyle for giving me solace all these years.

***** Hi ! I've been playing the piano for over 10 years now I think.. So I have somewhere a long practise behind me (but actually, the piano became a passion for me 2 - 3 years ago). I have learned this piece in around 2 months, by practising it every day to learn it ! So good luck, you know, like I said, if you really want to play this music, all you have to do is put all your passion in it and you'll see that it will be enjoying when you will finally be able to play this piece ! :D

Zoster X This piece is what inspired me to start learning piano 2 years ago, although until 4 months ago, I only had the chance to play for 20 mins a week in piano lessons at school. I learn upto about 1:20 before moving on to another song due to it's difficulty. But considering I had no prior experience of playing, I think it was good. Now that I have a kb at home (A Yamaha P-120 the one Kyle is using no less!) I get more practicem but 4 A2 Levels takes up a lot of time XD I can currently play: Hikari (TheNoveProjekt Version) Stars in Her eyes - Michael Riske Soundscape to Ardor - Bleach Stand up be Strong - Bleach learning currently 2:30 of Passion - Kyle Landry Vogel im Kafig - tehishter 90% done Is that good for 2 years? I feel like I could do more, but as I said, only got 20 mins per week in school for the most part heh :P
