Since KH3 will be released soon I decided to go through all games again in the PS4 collections and platinum them. I'm working on CoM rn and was looking for a way to ease the grind on en3my cards once I'm towards the end. Found this video and just by going with the comments this video will prolly save me hours of grinding. Like many others, the Neoshadow card wasn't dropping for me at all with the method in the video. I checked the comments and found some people suggesting a deck of 2 warps and 4 attack cards, with 1 dodge roll instead of 5. I still went for the Red Nocturne at the back of the room, without getting the first strike. The enemy pattern is the one with 2 Red Nocturnes + a Wizard, followed by a wave of 10(?) Neoshadows. This method worked perfectly for me first try (that I managed to hit all Neoshadows on the second wave). It is anecdotal, of course, but I figured I should share that this method DID work for me, so it might work for someone else too. Just in case World Order does matter, here's mine: Traverse -> Wonderland -> Agrabah -> Olympus -> Monstro -> Halloween -> Atlantica -> Neverland -> 100 Acre -> Hollow Bastion -> Twilight -> Destiny -> Castle Oblivion Other potentially relevant factors (doubtful but let's be thorough): Proud Mode, Level 72, Beaten both Sora and Riku stories, PS4.

DERIKUF Yeah. I did a testing of my own and it looks like there are two possible neoshadow spawn formation every time you reset the game. One with a second extra spawning and the other that doesn’t have more enemies respawning. Whenever I reset the game, it just switches between the two. I always get key to reward card on the one that doesn’t have any extra enemies and different cards from the spawn formation shown in the video. I think even when you reset the game there still some hidden codes that dictates spawn formation somehow unless of course it’s just in my game.

@@alanbrock3759 I first noticed that moogles kept selling me the same cards when reloading my save, and this gave me the clue that the RNG might be sufficiently fixed to allow for manipulation in regards to enemy card drops. After this discovery I started to do a lot of researching as to when the RNG changes (attacks, jumps, dodge rolls), and if it changes can it be predicted? The latter didn't yield any results, but the former did :)

Any tips on Wight Knight? I haven't touch the game since Nov 2022 because the RNG is garbage and it annoys me. I keep trying how it is done in the video. 5 dodge rolls. Running into the sleeping shadow on the left using Warp and it consistently doesn't drop. Just a red or green card. I'm starting to wonder if there's a better guide because this is just pissing me off

Great videos (this one and the follow-up one), everything works perfectly for most cards. I only had trouble with the Neoshadow - which I fortunately got very quickly in a random battle - and Sea Neon, which I got by using 26 cards instead of 1 attack card as someone in the comments suggested. Thank you very much ! One minor improvement would be to add the name of the enemy card at the beginning of each section, instead of just showing the card icon. That would help people to quickly check if they already have it or not, in the Card Index.

Seriously, THANK YOU!!! This worked great on the Xbox One version. Knocked them all out fairly quickly with your methods. A couple of them I had trouble getting to pop at first. I realized I needed to run directly to the Save and Sleeping rooms after starting a world without whacking any scenery for Moogle Orbs I happened to run close to or running into a Heartless by accident. Flawless after that!

Coming back to this video all this time later to say that this still works very well for the Steam version of the game. Unless I'm missing something, there is no soft reset feature, but using the Return to Title option from the save point does work.

NOTE: If you don’t feel like using a save room card, you can just use the save in the Entrance Hall *UNLESS* heartless spawn on your way to the sleeping darkness room. Heartless spawning affects the RNG (at least in my experience).

So the exact amount of keyblades changes depending on what order you did the worlds. This is for those who did my world order looking for the Crescendo card. I did one dodge roll like in the video and jumped on the same heartless. This heartless will spawn two different sets of heartless. One of them is the one in this video and the other is two shadows with the Crescendo in the middle. You'll want the two shadows and the crescendo if you did the worlds in the order I did. You'll also need 26 keyblades instead of the six the video has. I tested this 10 times in a row and got the card every single time as long as it was the two shadows and the crescendo. My worlds order: [Traverse Town > Agrabah > Olympus Coliseum > Monstro > Halloween Town > Wonderland > 100 Acre Wood > Atlantica > Neverland > Hollow Bastion > Twilight Town > Destiny Islands > Castle Oblivion]

For those who are trying to get some of the cards to drop for hours and it just don't seem to appear no matter how perfectly you replicate the strats, here something that might help you. There is an important detail he forgot to mention in this video that maybe even himself is not aware of it. Enemy cards will only start to drop after you defeated that specific enemy a set amount of times. It seems this value floats around 20 to 100 units killed, but I believe that each enemy has different requirements. Weaker enemies like Shadows for example needs to be killed in a large number before his card starts to drop. This was how the card drops worked in the original GBA version of the game, the many times you killed a specific enemy the higher was the chance it would drop his card when it was defeated last in battle. This can be proven true in the Black and White Mushrooms rooms where you don't have to roll and attack to start the fight. No matter how many times do you repeat the strat, they will never drop their cards unless you killed them a set amount of times first.

@@tiffanyverbeck7041 not sure the exact value since it has been a while I did this. I don't own the game, I 100% it when it was on Gamepass. But I do remember that the rarest the enemy the lesser is the number of times you need to defeat them for the card being eligible to drop. I would guess it is probably around the 20s or maybe a bit less. Since I made this post exactly because both Mushrooms were the last ones for me, and I couldn't get the cards to drop with the video strat after hours of trying. Then I went on my way and killed them for some time, repeated the strat and voala. Got the card first try.

• Neoshadow If anyone is having trouble getting this enemy card, this is what I did to help me obtain it 1st - Change the amount of attack cards in your deck to 4 2nd - Do 1 dodge roll instead of 5 This helped me obtain it on my 2nd try after trying out lots of different stuff, hope it helps

RANDOM JOKER MANIP FOR PROUD MODE FOUND - Set up a Moment's Reprieve room and a Sleeping Darkness room in Agrabah - Set up your deck exactly like this: Stop, Aero, Aero, Stop, Aero, Aero followed by 26 attack cards (Value doesn't matter, but has to be exactly 26 attack cards) - Save the game in the Moment's Reprieve room then soft reset (L1+R1+Options) - Reload the save - 0 dodge rolls, just go straight for the static Shadow heartless (DO NOT ATTACK IT). - Look for this specific wave: 2 shadows and 2 bandits (without any nocturns) - Spam Triangle - Done (Found this comment on am unpopular video and thought to share and spread this info)

@@bombbuter because Riku gets a random deck every floor and there's no way to edit Riku's deck at all for his story, this method will not work at all for him, no matter what difficulty you are on. Believe me when I say I did my research to get a Random Joker map card for Riku on Proud Mode. And I've seen people struggle to get it. It's all reliant on the game's RNG. However I luckily found it as I was completing Riku's story with a method I found in a comment in GameFAQs. The way I did it was every floor, I filled out the entire floor map while avoiding enemies then ran back to said floor's entrance and saved the game there. I then reset and reloaded the save to reset the game's RNG, then proceeded to clear out each room. Once I cleared a room of heartless, if I havent got the Random Joker by then, I went back to the entrance, saved, reset and reloaded then head over the the next room after and clear out the heartless in there. It's a lot of rinsing and repeating. But within 2-3 hrs I managed to get it. I hope this helps you out

@@bombbuter well, keep in mind this is what I did as soon as I started my Riku playthrough on Proud Mode. So every time I cleared out a room and saved, I kept the experience from that room and move on to the next one. Technically its faster to just clear out the room and soft reset immediately if you don't get the Random Joker, then clear out the same room from the save, but I wanted to keep the experience I gained as I'm trying to get Riku up to Level 99 for one of the trophies/achievements. In any case, from the moment I started that file from Floor B12, I managed to finally get it at the beginning of Floor B9. So yeah just go through all the rooms from the bottom to the top using the strategy I explained, and sooner or later it will eventually be yours.

For those of you struggling with the Wyvern, a problem you could be encountering is that you're not mashing Triangle fast enough. My first couple of attempts I was not obtaining the card, but then I started mashing faster to eliminate any possibility that the second wave would have ended up moving and I obtained the card immediately. I saw a comment where someone said they were unlucky and eventually received it after a couple of attempts, so maybe I fell into this category, but I am still going with that I did not use my sleight fast enough. Edit 08/03/23: I failed getting the Wyvern card a couple of times then starting mashing very fast. Like before, I managed to get the card as soon as I picked up my tempo with mashing. Still Have no idea whether or not it is a coincidence.

I think when the enemies make decisions it uses up the rng number that would have been used for the card drop. You need to defeat them before their ai's decide what they're gonna do.

@@cfighter95 Not for my exact save file, but it seems that this card is especially finicky when it comes to how closely the save files need to match. This is why I recommend just grinding normally for the card, preferably in a Teeming Darkness, Almighty Darkness, or Looming Darkness room, as these increase your chances of a card drop by x2.5.

@@erobertt3 I went back to Atlantica to try to get sea neon. After trying 1 kingdom card to 5 then 26 and back to one and 5 I finally got sea neon. Came back here and it worked on first attempt. So I guess I can confirm this does work but need to leave the area to another world then come back.. can anyone confirm? Or did I just need to keep trying and trying neoshadow?

You're a champion for creating this guide. I also found something useful idk if it was mentioned in the video, instead of using a Moment's Reprieve, you can start the save file from the back end of the map, Conqueror's Respite and then just opening a Sleeping Darkness door. Saves you the grind of farming for MP map card. Other than that, absolutely love this guide, saved me probably years of grinding when its doable in like an hour or two. Edit: i still cant get the Neoshadow to drop. i went four attack cards and one dodge roll and it still wouldnt drop Edit 2: i followed this again and it worked. just 30 minutes of grinding if youre not getting this exact spawn as shown in the video, leave them asleep, dont use any cards, escape the battle, look for another mob until this specific set spawns and try it. will eventually drop Neoshadows
