the votes are both from korea and international, and BTOB is REALLY loved and respected in Korea, so that's probably why they get a high rank compared to other groups who are known internationally. And for ateez, i'm a huge fan of them, but personally I didn't like their performance that much, maybe because they made the song really different from the original, I love the vibe from the original one, its really summer-ish and fun, and this version was too dark for me lol

True, it wasn't their best performance. There were a lot more vocal stability issues in this one compared to their usual live vocals. Their "From the Wonderland" in the next round, however, is a masterpiece.

Personally I love the Wave remix into a darker version, I like it way way more than the original and I loved their performance too, it was so intense and dramatic but the Kingdom camera work did not capture the best aspects of the choreo.

I really enjoy THE BOYZ performance and Stray Kids performance this round, they’re amazing and especially THE BOYZ, I was so surprised to see ballet here with the flowers blooming on the ground that is sooooo beautiful, also the rap part with two hands controlling the rapper's movements, the whisper “Winter is coming.” The GAME OF THRONE vibe from their MAMA PERFORMANCE. Wow they’re telling a story. And it’s kind of like a series of story I think. I also heard that this performance remixed the significant moment of each groups in ROAD TO KINGDOM and it’s so moving tho.

There probably won't be any self-covers in the show after the first round, round 2 they exchange songs with another group on the show, round 3 are collabs + another song (could be self-cover if they go the Queendom way, but Road to Kingdom had better stages and they were songs chosen by another group). Then the final with an original song.

i gotta promote the boyz here...they are for real one of the BEST performers in kpop in general..their creativity to come up with themes and their ability to perfectly demostrate and showcase those themes thru their dancing and facial expression, singing and rapping, is incredible. their road to kingdom perofrmances, when or if u decide to watch the show, are so incredible, you will 100% understand why they won, it would've been unfair if anyone else did. as for song recommendations, when or if u decide to react to them, my top3 picks would be, firstly 100% watch the stealer, cause wow, that song alone sold me, then reveal and breaking dawn, no air is also rlly good. as for my favorite to win kingdom, i honestly cant pick, i'll be good as long as it's either the boyz, stray kids or ateez oh and p.s. you can check out 4 of the members of the boyz, including juyeon, cover 'bad guy', i saw that video yesterday and i cant stop rewatching it

The results of the preliminary round make a lot more sense if you look at the way the fandoms voted. Basically you have two sets of groups on the show, the younger ones aka "ZZZ" (Stray Kids, The Boyz, Ateez) and the older ones (BtoB,iKon,SF9). ZZZ fans tend to be pretty antagonistic with each other so they won't vote for the "rival" groups, but use their remaining two votes (since you MUST vote for three groups) on the old groups, without much regard for the actual performances (that were only streamed once back in february, and a lot of people voted without actually seeing them). That's how SF9 ended up above Ateez. I hope that more casual viewers vote for the other rounds so as to offset that ridiculousness. The first round had a very clear best performance that both the groups and expert panel voted first, but I fear this is going to be buried by dumb fans voting "strategically" rather than for the best perfs.

​@SavageLeeKnowYAH My point is, there shouldn't be ANY strategy behind the votes, everyone should vote for who they think performed best and that's it. And they should vote ONCE, and not set up multiple accounts. Queendom and Road to Kingdom weren't popularity contests, and I absolutely HATE that Kingdom is turning into one, with all the stupid fanwars that come with it. The first round is going to turn into a shitshow, the performance that both the groups and the experts ranked first WON'T be first in the end just because fans insist on voting "strategically" in order to make their faves win. It just sucks for everyone involved because the group that's going to end up first after the fanvote, is going to feel like they're robbing that first place from its legitimate winners.

Lol seeing this actually makes me smile. International fans sleep on BtoB so they're always shocked but BtoB are HUGE in Korea. Their vocals are so respected in Korea that they are no longer seen as 'idols' but as musicians, which is one of the highest compliments in Korea as idol singers are seen as mediocre there.

If you gonna react to THE BOYZ, you should definitely check their ROAD TO KINGDOM performances(DANGER, REVEAL are my ULT FAVORITES)and then you could find their type of stage is such a new brand, or I can say another level of the performances we’ve seen before. They are such creative performers and they challenge the things we’ve never thought of. So that’s why I stan and ONLY stan them at my very first time. Their cover performance DANGER RTK.ver was praised by TAEMIN himself. REVEAL is one of their titles and it was remixed to an epic version and I LOVE IT SOOOOOO MUCH. The other four performances (includes SWORD OF VICTORY and HEROINE with ONEUS)are also amazing so would you check them all ? Honestly I think ROAD TO KINGDOM could be more fun than KINGDOM because it’s different from QUEENDOM but the first try of boy groups. Every performance is fresh but amazing. If you can, check the whole and you will enjoy. I’ve watched every episode more than one hundred times I think. Every friends of mine was amazed by the performances of ROAD TO KINGDOM.

I suggest you quickly react to Road to Kingdom (RTK). All the performances were amazing, but the scale of Kingdom will be larger so you may not appreciate the RTK performances as much if you watch Kingdom first. Also, heads up, there was a controversy in the next round. Due to a miscommunication, some groups had a limited budget while other groups used props from previous performances (later the budget amount was changed--it was a big mess) so the scale of half the performances were different from the other half. The higher budget groups did MAMA level performances (just something to factor in to your rankings and another reason to watch RTK first since their finale performances didn't quite reach that level). RTK had a collaboration round where the groups were paired--those performances were so good!

This was the first ever performance I had ever seen from Ateez, it wasn't terrible and the song was good (I haven't heard the original so I've got nothing to compare it to) but to me the singing was very lacking. Idk it didn't give me a very good first impression of them. Especially because Ikon ended up getting last place, I know that isn't their fault but it still left a bad taste in my mouth. I'd definitely be willing to give Ateez another try in the future, but they're not currently on my list.
