Spoilers: I thought the 13 dying was the right amount of devastating. It was obviously upsetting and a huge moment but it didn’t ruin the series or anything like that. (Like allegiant or the 5th wave)

Ahhh I’m so happy you loved it!! I’ve been missing the ToG world so much since I finished Kingdom of Ash and this felt like reading it all over again 💓 I completely agree that the whole lock forging thing was a little weird and like unnecessarily messy?? But in the end I did like that Aelin lost most of her powers bc it just shows that you don’t really need that to be strong and beat the bad guys 🙏🏼 Anyway, thank you so much for this vlog, i loved it and it kinda felt like talking to a friend about this amazing book which I can’t bc nobody around me ever reads the same books as me haha 💀

I don't know if you remember but Aelin did say to Evanlgeline in EoS "Win me back my kingdom" and she did ! The all locke passage upset me too, it made no sense !! At least we got to see Rhysand !! Also, as I am writing I know you have read Crescent city and I think Aelin cross it too while she was falling there is a moment when she sees a city whith huge "towers" or something like that whhich could be modern buildings I think. Plus, there is also other worlds mentioned in Crescent city so.... The thirteen's death was aweful but so beautyful, with the prophecy etc... Also, am I the only one who wants an epilogue to see the new Orynth and Aelin's dance teacher who we see in queen of shadows to come and dance there ?? In my head it is what happens afterwards.

This book was intensely emotional for me, I found myself taking my time with the story and fully absorbing everything happening and literally on the edge of my seat hoping it all works out for them. The thirteen was heartbreaking, but so incredible, it was totally unexpected. After finishing the book, it felt like such a gratifying end to the whole journey of this series. ♡♡♡

I just think that if all of her power AND most of mala's power were used, that should have been it!! She definitely shouldn't have been drained after everyone else's help and I think it was a cop out way of making all of their powers more manageable

I raged and cried so much for the 13 dying, i was absolutely raging, i grounded my book and put it in the corner scolding it like 'you can stay in the corner and think about what you did to me!', my boyfriend was laughing at me but then he cuddled me to sleep that night because even an hour later I still couldn't stop crying! first book that made me ugly cry too!

Late to the book talk but I totally expected Lysandra to give up on Aedion and end up with Ren. Because Ren definitely showed her interest and was looking after her whilst Aedion was being a dick. I don’t hate Aedion but I disliked how he went from being so loyal to Aelin to criticising her, and then he realised how wrong he was to doubt her, but goes ahead and does the same thing to Lysandra. Like he didn’t learn from his mistake of judging things too fast.

I finished KOA and am going through all these YT review videos. xD I was so disappointed in the ending, the lock (wtf was the point), insert conveniently and random wolf-fae to save the day, no stakes, anti-climatic ending of Erawan/Maeve. Just ugh. The Thirteen sacrifice was the most satisfying part. SJM really falls short when it comes to taking risks, but she nailed these death and their impact to the story. I wish she wouldn't always put people together to live happily ever after, especially in a high-stakes series that spanned over 5,000 pages.
