Loved the original movies and the tv show and love the last trilogy because they treated the source material with respect and didn’t try to overdo the effects they kept it grounded as well as the cast Andy Serkis does NOT get enough love and praise for his stellar work in his trilogy

This must be the newer extended version of this trailer - I think the first trailer came out last month or am I wrong?! - but this trailer looks Epic & more in depth - & I grew up on the original Ape movies from the 60’s & 70’s but my hope is the story line ties into the mind of these apes & Augustin really hit it on the mark about these movies - I hope it does well 👍🏼😃

It might be an interesting thing to watch the originals in how they managed the special effects, especially the masks. As someone who was little when those shows were on TV, it was amazing how the actors in those stiff plastic masks managed to convey empathy and a full range of emotions.

Technically only the first 2 original movies take place after this new movie with maybe the exception of the 5th movie. Otherwise, 3 and 4 take place close to modern day for when they were released.

This looks so good, and I can't wait to watch it in theaters. I think the main character Noa is a direct decendant of Ceasar, like a 6-times great grandson. The last film had me in angry tears, so I'm ready to cry again. 🐵

This New Villain Proximus Caesar looks terrifying with his facial expressions. His voice too. I can’t remember the actors name but I remember his voice. He was Blob in Wolverine. Kevin Duran I think. He’s great. Perfect for this! I’m actually really excited for this one out of all the trailers this one was the most epic and got me curious.

There were five original movies. The first movie with Charlton Heston was The Planet of the Apes. in 1968. 2. Beneath the Planet of the Apes. 3. Escape from the Planet of the Apes. This one Cornelius and Zira used Taylor's spaceship The Liberty1 (Icarus) and went back to the past to Taylor's time. And here's where it started. Zira had a child. That child was Caesar. Now that the past human world was introduced to talking apes, they decided to create more of intelligent apes for pets, because all cats and dogs died off from a virus. But they turned them into slaves. 4. Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. Caesar now grown started the rebellion that would ultimately destroy the human race. And the last movie: Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Caesar would win the battle for the planet. The new movies are a retelling of the older ones. Not involving Cornelius and Zira. But, instead a scientist creating Caesar himself. The rest of the newer movies retell the originals starting from Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. So instead of these starting from Taylor's perspective. They are leading up to when the crew of the Icarus are thrown back 2000 years to crash back on earth.

This the first of a trilogy leading up to the original story of planet of the apes 1968

I believe this might be taking place maybe 100 yrs before the crash landing of the Liberty1 (Icarus) spacecraft. In the original story, A total of five Liberty ships were built and sent to the stars. A crew of four in the Icarus were sent to a distant star travelling at near lightspeed. The crew entered hibernation for twelve months for a total of an eighteen month trip. But three months into hibernation, The Icarus collided with another Liberty ship and automatically changed course back to Earth, but were propelled 2000 yrs into the future. The fourth crew member was MaryAnn Stewart. Originally, her pod malfunctioned soon after entering hibernation. The young woman we see in this trailer is wearing a torn t-shirt and tactical pants. Not animal hides. She could be the forth crew member somehow sent back in an escape pod after the collision, or the only remaining survivor of the crew of other Liberty ship, but arrives way sooner than the Icarus. Just a theory. How cool would that be.

I think this is the Charlton heston movie but from the ape's point of view and with a female astronaut. we saw the rocket launch in an earlier movie and Freya's character is smarter and wearing normal clothes instead of animal skins.

Just have to say...I wish they'd stop the trailer before the trailer haha especially when their goal is to blow your eardrums out with the audio. This looks like it's going to be so intense and I like that it is keeping the continuity of the last trilogy with the aesthetics and world building. Sometimes it's hard to keep that feel when someone new takes over. I'm looking forward to doing a rewatch of the three movies

I'm a big fan of the originals since I was a little kid and I've liked all of the PotA movies. The first 3 were DE-press-ING, in that lovely 70s sort of way. Loved it. The last two dealt with Caeser's story. I did like the Tim Burton one also 'cause the story concept was cool and the ending cliffhanger was very innovative, like a Twilight Zone episode. I love the new trilogy also, so I'm a big fan. When I was a kid and saw the original, I didn't get the shock of the ending 'cause I never didn't think they were on a different planet, but the Statue of Liberty image still creeped me the F out and I loved it. I can't remember how long it was supposed to be in the future, but I think it was over 1000 years, maybe over 2000.

I adore the reboot trilogy rise, dawn and war they are my fave three movies of all time and are criminally underrated and unappreciated. I adore Caesar still i don’t think that will ever change. I have to say that when this movie was announced i was a little skeptical as Andy Serkis wasn’t going to be in it but after seeing the trailer i’m happy to say it seems to have captured the essence of the rise, dawn and war films and i’ll definitely be checking it out when it hits the cinema in the UK, I’m from Scotland. I already have a fave chimp from the new one already it’s Noa the chimp with the hawk who says hunting humans is wrong. He reminds me so much of Caesar that i think he must be a descendant of his perhaps from Caesars baby son Cornelius seeing as this is set 300 years after War but i could be wrong.
