I saw the huge staircase and thought I could go up that way. Needless to say, realising I had to climb all the way back up made me sad. At least the secret area tied to those stairs is cool when you manage to get there xD

This happened to me last night. I knew for hours that I had to break the levee, but I was so blind that I didn't think to just use the camera to follow the path down to the island you need to be on, and just swam around for hours

Fun fact, a simple switch from Nia (with dromarch out) to rex pushing against the gate's corner should sink him just enough to get under said gate and have him pop up on the other side. Best part is that you get the tardy gate landmark so you don't have do that over and over (but the chest underwater is worth getting sooo....)

Getting lost in Uraya in my first playthrough was one of the best experiences I've had in a videogame as when in one of the nights a petal storm started and I witnessed one of the most beautiful sceneries in all videogame media.

So I want to tell a story for a bit, when i first played the game I really didn't care much for it. It was because the gameplay felt slow, the blade combos where a bit confusing and I didn't not enjoy the gacha system at all. while i did enjoy some of story beats like Pyra's awakening or Morag's introduction, I still didn't feel that story pull like Xeno 1 had, it felt Gormotti was just trying to be Bionis leg 2, big open field of grass, some verticality, and level 81 monkey ready to kill you. I will say it has cool music and i do like how the area looks but it didn't hook me like Bionis leg did, it may have been the fact the map is all on one layer and trying to understand how to get around Gormotti was a bit of a pain. but at first that didn't stop me, I still wanted to see how the story went, and the furthest i was after the first Akhos fight. I think it was the combination of mechinics like the gacha styem, the blade combo system and the chain attack system was a little too much for me and the game did not allow you to review tutorials so I easily forgot about alot of things, it just felt too much for me, so I ended up selling the game. So about year and a half or so go by and definitive edition gets released, so when i'm at gamestop I see this game marked down, and i thought to myself that even with the faults of the game, I still wanted to at least see the story through, so i decied to give the game a second chance, but only after I play through the first game again. by a stroke of luck, a week or so after I beat definitive edition that was when Chuggaaconroy started his lets play on the game, i thought it was cool that he started this game around the same time i wanted to get back into it, but I actually decided to put my playthrough on wait for a bit and watch Chugga up until the part where i was at, that was the best decision I made. Thanks to Chugga's lets play I was able to understand the game mechanics alot better, i started to understand blade combos and chain attacks, and I even found the true power of pouch items, it felt like a new door opened up. so Chugga gets to Uraya that is when my second wind for the game kicked it, I booted up the game, collected all the items I missed thanks to his lets play, and I started to head to Uraya Stomach. when I got the stomach it was a sight to behold the glowing trees you see when your atop Cobalt cliffs, this song that plays in the background as you stare off into the distance, i was left staring at the distance for awhile, it was stunning. the introduction of Zeke, the journey through the stomach getting to Fonsa myma, the battle at the ruins and the whole Mytrha reveal just so amazing. this chapter, this area, this song really made me fall in love with this game, if it wasn't thanks to the lucky fortune of Chugga starting his lets play, I may never be in here telling my story, but you could say it was, the passage of fate.

This game is so magical, I’m so glad Chuggaa is helping people like you find out just how amazing Xenoblade 2 is after you figure out how the game really works outside of the bad tutorials. I remember in my first playthrough in the last area of the game there was a moment when the combat just finally clicked for me, the story was hitting all the right beats, the music constantly captured me, I beat the game on the same day and in that one whirlwind Xenoblade 2 became my favorite game. I hope maybe it’ll become yours too, or at least close :)

I had been a fan of Xenoblade 1 for a long time since I had been watching Chugga for years. I eventually got my hands on DE and fell in love with it. I was hesitant on getting 2 just because I heard about it's bad reputation, but I gave in after watching his tutorial video. For the first portion of the game (up until after the first Morag fight), I didn't realize what Core Chips did. Luckily, I had started to watch Chugga's LP up to where I was, and this helped me understand mechanics and realize how amazing the combat system is. When I got to Uraya, my first instinct was "great a poison swamp" after seeing the bottom portion of the head. Then I met Vandham, and that may be one of the most influential moments in gaming for me. The rest of Uraya made me realize that this game is something special, and the day theme will probably be my favorite piece of music for the rest of time.

I totally understand how you feel. I played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 at the request of my friend who had gotten to the end. Back then, I was a HUGE fan of Xenoblade Chronicles 1. So I had big expectations going into Xenoblade 2. Needless to say, I was kinda confused. The mechanics were strange and I couldn't understand it at all. My friend tried to help me, but admitted he wasn't the most proficient in the mechanics either. Playing through Gormott was kinda a bore. Like you said, I didn't really have a pull into the story yet. I really was only chugging along because my friend kept telling me it would get better. So I kept going, only half invested. Until Uraya. I was floored by how beautiful it was. And that's when other mechanics started opening up. I was sure that there was some part of the combat mechanics I was missing. So, I took to KZbin. This was before Chugga's Let's Play. I literally took an hour to watch videos and study up the on the mechanics. Then I started grinding to put what I was seeing into motion. Once it clicked, BOY did it click. Once I was able to understand the full extent of the mechanics, it was like a whole new game. I was actually having a lot of fun. I wasn't a master yet, but I was able to pull off some of the elemental combos and chain attacks. Uraya was also where the story started to get more pull for me. Vandam was an amazing character that I got attached to rather quickly. The reveal of mythra was also unexpected. it was amazing. From then on, I was hooked. Uraya is still my favorite area because of this. and the gorgeous music of course.

The closest i can feel like im playing xenoblade chronicles is listening to the music, ive seen comments about it that its a good game to play and its underrated so i dont watch any gameplays because i dont want to get spoiled and the feeling of experiencing the game for the first time is the best thing you can experience especially with a calming music like this. The day i can earn money is the time i can invest on a nintendo switch lite and the game. As of now all i can do is listen to this music and just imagine that im playing the game but with a different plot so that i wont think about the main game's plot lol.

I would recommend you to save for the normal switch, This Game on the switch Lite doesnt look very well. I have played It on both, so I know It Will take u more time but It improves the experiencie. Good luck!!

I second fernando. I played XBC1 first (awesome game -- you can play on a Wii emulator), which I recommend doing immediately before playing XBC2 on the Switch (buy this one to support Monolithsoft and Nintendo). Both have top-notch environments, soundtracks, and gameplay.

Spoilers After Vandham died, I left Fonsa Myma on the same path I took from Garfont, at night, once you leave the city after chapter 3, good god, it gave me tears. Vandham was a really cool character that we didn’t get to see much of, the feels of having an awesome character die, combined with this music was just, too much for me.

This song is easily one of my top 10 songs in the game. But dang, 7 minutes and change? That's pretty long for one track if I want to listen to the whole OST (and often I do). That seems to be the case with all the area themes. They loop more than once before an outro that you don't actually hear in-game because, well, it loops before that point. Seems that's the way they're put into the game files, which is...kinda odd. Hopefully when MONOLITH releases the OST officially they could make it so that these songs go all the way through once and then have the little outro things. That'd be pretty cool. And it would mean that listening to the entire wonderful OST of this game would be a sub-3 or 4 hour affair.

Yep, they're stored in game like this. The OST releases will be much shorter, probably 1~2 loops and the ending bit.

I'd actually prefer that they loop a couple times before ending. It feels too abrupt to hear the entire thing only once, especially if its a song I really like, such as this one. Other rips on KZbin only include one loop for this song, which is less than 2 minutes, and it just feels too short and abrupt.
