Alex... you saved me $15 today. I was not paying attention while pledging and added the Emperor Chest and the Recrafted Deluxe to my pledge. Then I heard you say that we do not need both, and checked the contents and adjusted my pledge to remove the Recrafted. Thank you! If you know someone over at Lucky Duck, you might suggest to them to put something in the item descriptions that both are not needed.

for the US you can get the last base box for $42, the expansion and deluxe trays come out to $74 on their web store (exclusive) which makes the game a $116 value. With the price increase, you're probably looking at $100 shipped for backing now. Or about a 14% discount give or take. The question for the US side is do you want an $84 set with both games in one box that's hard to set up, a $300 set completely blinged out with massive boxes and trays, or a combo of one tray set and a base set. I trending more and more towards retail sets and just fighting the fomo of missing the two web store expansions (with my handy 3d printer to custom make towers and trays)

Are the 3d towers, soldiers and tokens compatible from the first version of the game to this newer second version. i.e. you can use those add on's in a plug-in-play fashion with the new game and they are 100 percent compatible? Also the 3 previous expansions, like the spider-goddess one, these fit into the custom deluxe gametrayz storage solution but for the newer game there is not such a place correct. So if we got these those components would need to be kept in their own separate original expansion box, defeating the idea of an 'all-in-one' deluxe storage box, IF they come out with the same thing for this new version of Kingdom Rush. Correct? Also if you do get those previous expansions can you use them with the newer version of Kingdom Rush, so say you want the Spider-Goddess expansion but you only get the newer Elemental Uprising would it be 100% compatible?

This game confuses me - on paper, it sounds perfect for me as I love the thought of a polyamimo tower defence game! However, I just can't get excited by it for some reason... Think I'll wait until I see Rift in Time in a sale.

I may have to start watching your videos at half speed...you flew thru this one. I havent opened my all-in on the 1st yet...did it not come with deluxe towers and or those soldiers? both are new to this yet compatible with the original?

The original did have towers and soliders, you don't need replacements.

I find there is a limit to how many cooperative puzzle games are worth owning, with Spirit Island being a high point. Competitive games see far more table time in my home.

I think most people will be more pleased with spirit vs this. I could own a million games as good as SI, but unfortunately there aren't many great ones on the market and this isn't one of those.

Hey Alex, if someone wants to get either Rift in Time or Elemental Uprising, but not both, which one would you recommend?

just monetarily, this is much cheaper to get the all in for vs rift in time. Rift in time you can play now for cheaper. the differences are minimal : stickers to add special modifiers to towers (cool), some spaces that do things like the flowers that put two damage tiles out when you stop on them, and volcanos that do damage around them, and minibosses. The rest is essentially a variant of mechanics: heroes,bosses,towers. The new stuff is fine? but decide if you want to play a base version now for cheap, or get a cheaper all in now and wait.

This game looks fun and I don't own a tower defence game. Rift in time has a weight of 2.87 on BGG is it that complex? as I prefer slightly lighter games. Thanks

The german games were delayed and have just yet arrived, so for me its too early for a new kickstarter. So far we have mixed feelings with the game anyway. We really like the puzzle mechanic and the table presence is great. But we dislike the portal mechanic that destroys all towers used against it. It may not be a problem in lower player counts but with 4 players, you have less towers overall and after each portal all our towers are gone. So in the end we only use the heroes for most hordes and save our towers for the portals. Since you need to upgrade to reach the minimum level for the portals, we rarely place any tower... in a tower defense game. This may be a specific problem for the 4 player game, since in 2 or 3 player you have less heroes and therefore start with way more towers. I already read some posts saying the game is too easy, while we struggle to beat even the early levels. One warning i think i can give for sure: This is not a game you can play well with smaller kids. While its not too complicate and looks very cute, the frustration tolerance of kids is usually not that high and the constant loss of your towers and the need to not play your towers to upgrade them did not sit well with our 7 year old.
