Things I like to remember about this game 1. The 'a' and 's' keys are alternatives to clicking the food and resource buttons (still acquire heat) 2. you can speed up the game to 400% by clicking the '+' sign, and decrease it down to 100% by using the '-' key 3. In the ascension tree, the bottom right corner introduces the 'automatic management' buttons beside the enable government, the import wood and import food buttons

Forgot to use your link to buy so here’s a tip instead. Pixel art interested me and it came through your curator steam page. Your excitement for the game really did a lot of work selling me. Wasn’t too sure the loop would be fun and the clicker aspect had me thinking twice. However, you just really had a lot of positive things to say about the different systems, how they connected and how it all works so well and it does. The management, lotus and leader systems combine for some good fun and I’m looking forward to subsequent play throughs. I get a lot of mileage out of this channel covering niche indie games and the recommendations that follow.

Update Announcement: Splat is playing an old version here. The Map, Walls/Forts, Wonders, and Workers have all been changed. The map is now ten times larger or more and shaped like a continent, you can 'spend' a worker to claim a tile for a very small income bonus (+1 food on click for example) but with the right tech you can convert tiles into farms, forests, villages, mines, forts, etc. These give income per second or extra charges for your infantry or forts and benefit from adjacency bonuses. For example farms give 10 food per second, but if you have two more farms next to one it gets an extra 10 food per second, and if you fully surround it on the hex grin (6 spots needed) it gets an extra 10% food on top of the other bonuses. Since workers are spent to claim tiles (you can abandon a tile to get the worker back but your territory must connect back to your village or you loose everything that gets cut off) they are no longer upgraded by tech, so free workers provide only 1 food per second and never improve. Walls no longer fully block attack penalties, they now provide a % chance to block an attack up to a max of 90% block chance (and that can fail you at critical moments) with any extra chance to block rolling over to the next penalty. Attacks have fewer penalties and walls are much cheaper as a result. Wonders now take a workshop slot, so every wonder you build is a workshop you can't make, and when manned they generate risk while charging an ability that offers an extra meta point... *if* you keep the wonder alive until you ascend! Every time you use the ability it triggers an attack, and every attack of any kind after you build it might destroy your wonder, and if it's destroyed you can't rebuilt it though the slot does free up for other wonders or your workshops. The wonder also needs an extra worker to man it each time you perform the 'ceremony' action so eventually you can't man it anymore and have to move on. I have build Stonehenge on four different runs and never gotten it to survive so far.

17:51 this reminds me of the odd fact that Michael Flatley set the Guinness World Record for taps per second twice (taps as in tap dancing). First time in 1989 at 28 taps per second... second time was 1998 at 35 taps per second. That is absolutely bonkers! As far as I'm aware no one has broken that record. Absolutely blows my mind that someone can move their feet that quickly in a coordinated manner... meanwhile I fall up stairs and over my own feet regularly 😂😂

33:08 hit the nail on the head The „clicker“ aspect makes this game pure poison. It would burn out my synapses faster than Blizzards „Overwatch“ (- which I stopped playing two days in for the same reason). - I know what is bad for my dopamine economy, and this is pure crack: it would leave me burned out and empty, chew me and spit me out in just a few days. @2:00 population... "if this goes down to zero, it is over, there is no walking that off"... only to find out that if it goes to zero you have to recover from that and "bounce back". Seems like we are no longer giving zero the definition of zero. Zero population should mean there is no one left to bounce back with, due to there being... wait for it... zero people. I played the demo due to this channel a year ago? It was good, but extremely difficult to balance because it has its own kind of flow to it. Micro is not quite cookie clicker, sometimes wild expansive can cause collapse. Aggressive map play can cause a tidal wave of enemy incursions. It has a lot more "thought" to it than a lot of the idle incremental games. I hope it sells well because it definitely sticks out.

From what i played, id say Railroaded like CIV. Like.... Roguelike is not the right term but..... I guess its kinda like Loop Hero? You Research Tech till you hit the end of the Tech tree, then you "ACCEND" which tallys up all your Accomplishments in that "run" which gives you Lotus to unlock MORE STUFF. For example you start in the Cave man age, and can unlock NEW Ages to research though up till the Modern age last I checked. But their are other things like Bonus Resorces income among other things in the Unlock Tree.

While I wanted to be into this game, it really didn't click for me. It's too much of an "active" idle game - not much progresses when you just have it on the second screen and also you have to babysit it just in case some problem comes up. At the same time, it's not active enough to be something I play with full focus. So it kind of awkwardly stradles the two genres for me...

The clicking part is just a big nono for me (even if you can use a and s alternatively as someone pointed out in the comments). It's either "click and hold" for me or "click to enable/disable". Anything else is going to drive me crazy and wear down my equipment needlessly (I already click thousands of times per day for work, and I'm going through a mouse every 6 months or so). In a day and age where "accessibility" is so high on everyone's list, I think they should implement an option make that happen. It's a single player game. Nobody suffers from this option being there. But that's just me. If they think this clicking mechanic is an integral part of their game ... then it's just not for me and I'm okay with that. Funnily enough the devs apparently responded on Steam to add such an option. That was in 2023 ... soooo, not sure why this hasn't happened yet?
@percinattoАй бұрын
