The longer the video, the more hellish the engine becomes for the animators. Mainly since it hasn't been updated for YEARS, with it using an engine from Team Fortress 2, way back in 2008.

There is an animation they made called "Mann vs. Machine", I really recommend you watch it as it's very similar to Meet the Team. There is also another animation called "Jungle Inferno" which is really good as well.

The reason why this didn't make it to TV it was because it was too long, adult swim wanted an 11 minutes pilot, but Valve couldn't make it shorter than the final pilot, so they uploaded the thing to KZbin, there were commercials for TF2 in adult swim though, with some promotional cosmetics in the game and references to the game in some of the shows. I recommend watching or reading the TF2 comics after the End of the Line, they are great!

I just noticed when I got back that every time you teleport in game you have a chance of having a pastry drop in with you, from toast to even a pretzel. They don't mutated however because they probably don't have as much wheat for the "beauty marks" to develop Edit: Also, in the lore Scout can't read, you can even see him trying to learn in prison with a preschool book in the comics

Just to give an context, Ms Pauling is the women who hired the mercenaries for the company, and Scout has a crush on Ms Pauling, Ms Pauling knows about the mercenaries such as name birth and age to of them all, and the only reason Spy helps Scout because Scout is Spy’s son since Spy was with Scouts Mom (Showdd in meet the Spy). If you want to know more I suggest a video called “TF2’s LORE in 15 minutes” by Oris tv and he explains the comics, I also suggest Lazy Purples’s “How it feels…” videos.

Fun fact for people new to Tf2 lore Spy is actually Scouts father which was revealed in a Tf2 comic where the characters confront the og Tf1 characters and one almost kills scout and in scouts dying moments spy comforts his son by disguising himself as David Hasselhoff, Its been a theory thats why spy was willing to help scout in this short in what they think is there last hours of life.

After this pilot episode came out TF2 got an update based on this, we got a cosmetic set for Scout and a couple of bread weapons such as: Mutated Milk (Mad Milk reskin for Scout) Self-Aware Beauty Mark (Jarate reskin for Sniper) Snack Attack (Sapper reskin for Spy) Bread Bite (Fist reskin for Heavy) This gave me the theory that if this pilot ended up being a full show we could have gotten new original cosmetics from the show and maybe weapons, this was meant to be aired on Adult Swim (due to them doing a collab with Venture Bros)

I just had a good concept idea for an episode: Demo man has been receiving letters from his blind mom that he doesn’t come back to Scotland to visit her, much less has met his “colleagues.” Meanwhile, the team gets a mission in, big shock, Scotland. Demo thinks he could kill two birds with one stone, and wants to see if the others could help without it seeming like a business call. A few blind jokes here, some cool action shots of the mission, some interaction with Demo’s possessed sword over there and BOOM, another episode outline.

For lazypurple's series I'd recommend watching them in order and as for soundsmith's, you can watch any as you don't have to follow in order but I would recommend watching mann's guide to the big earner.

SFM is something of a standard now but a lot of people don't realize it started out simply as Valve's in game animation tool. By using the Source engine embedded in their games they could render using a combination of gameplay footage and rigged animation to expedite making CGI cinematics. When they finally went public with it allowing users to download and use it themselves for free there was an explosion of SFM movies all over the internet. TF2 even hosted an anual event wherein the community submits their favorite fan made animations and they are voted on to win awards in different categories called the Saxxy Awards. TF2 as a game is interesting as it was built from the ground up to become the spiritual successor to the massively popular Quake mod "Team Fortress" It was originally going to be a large combat simulation type game with players controlling units in a combined topdown/fps shooter strategy game. The team at Valve worked on the concept for a few years before scrapping it and changing direction to make an arena based objective shooter instead. When the game launched it was pretty bare bones. Valve put a lot of work into executing the mechanically technical gameplay, while also focusing on the design of the classes to help people identify them by silhouette in game, while also prioritizing things such as color-theory to emphasize players understanding friendly teammates from enemies. (Funilly enough a glitch in how team colors were assigned in game would sometimes lead to enemy players looking like friendlies by mistake and gave birth to the Spies kit as a result.) They made a remarkably playable game for its time which instantly found a place in the hearts of those already suffering fatigue from the traditional army based shooters and games like Halo. But even with the fresh take on a shooter game the developers did cut some corners to arive at the end product. For one thing the game landed with virtually no lore at all. It was never a plan to make any sort of background or story revolving around the game to explain anything beyond people fighting over a briefcase, or pushing a giant bomb to the enemy team's base. To make its entry into things even more complicated, Half Life 2 was the major draw for most people buying the Orange Box. For many HL2 was the true triple A title they were investing in, and Portal alongside TF2 were kinda just seen as novelty bargan games. Portal would rise to cult status with its in game story but TF2 remained largely obscure due to only having a singular promotional video released prior to the launch of The Orange Box, and what's worse it was a tech demo that did not match the final product and gave a brief showcase of each class in some mild gameplay. Thankfully, Vavle would not abandon the title however, and with Steam rapidly expanding as a market to sell video games they were able to sell their own titles direct to buyers digitally, and thus had an incentive to endorse their own titles. Thus we got the Meet the Team videos which were HUGE in getting peoples attention for the game. Their inception opened up the door to mass appeal, and more insight into each of the playable classes sparking an eager interest in lore for the game to be made official by Valve. That along with raging debates about small tidbits left in the game concerning some of the classes leaving questions to be answered made people ravenous to find out more. There was one a long-time hotly debated topic as to just whether or not Pyro was a man or a woman considering there was a purse within the locker of the character in game, as well as some of the other classes making comments hinting at a lady beneath the mask when dominating them on the other team. Soldier: "Hah, you fight like a girl!" Demoman: "Go home lassie, men are fightin' here." Burning questions such as that made the anticipated release of the video for Pyro a big event. If I recall correctly the "Meet the Pyro" video had somewhere near 13 million views on the first day and nearly brought down KZbin with all the ppl trying to see it. The subsiquent lore that Valve has put into the game has made it one of the strangest, most batshit insane and hilarious universes to exist in all of gaming, and it holds a special place in the hearts of many. Truly, nothing else will ever quite be like TF2.

When you've seen the main tf2 animations (often associated with big updates), then it'd be time for the fan-made stuff. I'd say start the fan-made animations with the (somewhat flawed due to deadline) Turbulence, and then the other side of the coin that is the incredibly densely-packed voiceline-mashed cartoon insanity that is Heavy Is Dead. Two great creations that take different routes with it's charm and creativity, one of which absolutely will give you whiplash like a rollercoaster.

I'm a bit late to the recommending party, but you should check out the Team Fortress 2 official webcomic some time, especially the Mann Co No More storyline (it's the only one with numbered issues, starts with Ring of Fired). I realise a comic isn't the best for video purposes, but there are several fandubs out there you can use, including one by Scout's actual voice actor. It's just as hilarious as the videos, with the added bonus of having some genuinely emotional moments sprinkled in. Just make sure to read the Catch-Up Comic first so you're up to date with the lore from outside the videos.

You don't know how flexible source is if you take gmod as an example and it's addons with the right addons you can turn the game with graphics closer to call of duty modern warfare remastered like seriously there are so many talented devs who make crazy addons

Miss Pauling isn’t playable because she isn’t a Mercenary, nor is she working for Mann Co. Miss Pauling works for the Administrator, who is the announcer for TF2. The Administrator herself works for no one but herself to keep the Gravel Wars (spanning Team Fortress (the Quake Mod) to TF Classic to TF2) going on forever. Her dress is purple because (I assume) it is the mix of Blue and Red, symbolizing her position in the wars. Miss Pauling as a character is expanded upon in the comics. The Beard has done a great series of voice-over dubs of the comics, and comic #7 is in the works, you should check them out and react to them.

"How does SFM Animation Work?" Depends on where you start from. You can load up the maps and characters and animate from there-a very long process. You can load up a replay of a match, then animate based off that-you have a nice base but this program is like around ~14 years old now. And it's filled with glitches and prone to crashing. Also, if you plan to have the models have their cosmetics/skins on, you better hope the steam workshop community has provided an SFM-compatible fix. (Don't be afraid to ask the community for a fix though.) But yeah, Source Filmmaker is... a thing.

team fortress 1 is a thing, most people call it tfc (team fortress classic) but that is a remake of the real team fortress 1 in the half-life engine. the original was a SUPER popular quake mod. the creators got hired by valve. also, last major update 2017. last rebalance was 2018. there are unlockable weapons! you have to play the game a lot to get them all. you can unlock them by playing in servers. there are so. many. weapons. and with 100's of warpaints, over 1,600 cosmetics, and different rarities, you can play this game for thousands of hours and not have every item. (yes some items are now impossible to obtain, apart from trading but there aren't that many)

You know TF2 has some good Comics out there oh, yes they have Comics two types of fact, one to advertise updates, and a series that take place after the main events of the game. The first one of these seriously Comics Recaps on the lore of TF2. And there is a good YTer that dubs it named " the beard " so if you want a simple recap of the lore and the storyline I would recremend that. ALSO there is 1 mire trailer you kissed called Mann VS Machine.

If you think its diverse with how little you've been provided, the tf2 comics are wiiiiiiild. I don't know how many people will enjoy a comic vid so I don't suggest doing it. Maybe do it in your own time because the comics are just real fun.
