So good to see you making regular content, it's so warm and comfortable in every aspect even the making. The soft color grading, the cute edits and little animations, the fact you're writing your own soundtrack. Wonderfully cozy.

I'm the same age as you Martina. Sadly i've been diagnosed with MND and probably only have a year or so left to live. I always wanted to go to Japan. Lived in NZ for the last few years but i never got there because of the pandemic. Your videos provide much needed joy as i start to lose my mobility. I've watched since Korea and wish you all the best for your future. You've given me so much light and laughter over the years. Thank you.

I love this type of content. Simple, everyday "adventures". Not every day has to be a party. It's calm and we can see a side of japan that is not very often advertised. This video greatly reminded of my trip in Japan back in 2018. It gave me the same feeling that I had those 10 days in Kyoto and Tokyo. Japan is such an unique and beautiful country with rich history and intense culture. I really want to revisit Japan.

I have a friend that just discovered last year that she is also allergic to gluten, and she wants to come to Japan someday, so she asks me sometimes how is it like with gluten free stuff here. I can say that compared to Europe, there isn't that much stuff available yet in supermarkets, for example, but it is increasing for sure. Also in bigger cities you can find more gluten free stores and restaurants. ^^

I ❤️ the return of the food adventures! Question: have you noticed the foods in Japan are easier on your symptoms overall? My arthritis is triggered pretty aggressively by American wheat but I didn't have any issues with Japanese wheat or dairy while we were there. I think our trip was the first time I had felt fully nourished in a long time. I know Japan processes and grows their produce differently than the US and my nutritionist thinks my body just responds to their methods better. Have you noticed anything similar? aside from everything being delicious 😋

Idk if anyone else has noticed it, but I can hear Martina playing her keyboard, like I hear has she’s pressing down the keys of her keyboard and usually people would do anything to get that noise out of their music but I think it really humanizes Martina’s music, it’s really beautiful and reminds me that it came from Martina probably sipping on her coffee late at night with her twinkling lights just truly vibing out. Beautiful Martina!

Just wanted to pop in here to say thank you so much for your videos and all that you do! I started watching years ago because I also love food and exploring/traveling and learning about different languages and cultures and I'm happy that I can continue to support even today! I'm also unbelievably grateful that you share about having EDS and things to help-- because of that awareness I was eventually able to find out that my struggles were because I have EDS too (and POTS etc.) but I wasn't immediately discouraged because I knew that now that I have identified the cause I can take steps give myself a break mentally and physically when I'm not doing 100%. I definitely went back and watched all the videos on mobility aids etc. for advice haha, but I love that you incorporate the ways you're taking care of yourself and your health into your videos because it's important for you. It's also been a huge help to convince myself to do the same (things as simple as finding a seat when waiting or on the train or taking a less taxing route instead of toughing it like I did before lol). So ya! Thanks so much and hope you have a good rest of your weekend!!

Fellow EDS (I don't want to say 'sufferer'...) cope-with-er and I recently overdid some bag carrying. Not only was my left shoulder just janked for a week but my arm was so bruised that people thought I had gotten into a fight! So, I feel you there. Also I had so much nostalgia seeing the Book Off door. I miss Book Off. Trying to find second hand manga and Japanese magazines from America has been a nightmare. I've been trying to find the same old issue of Dengeki Maoh for about a month now... It's gotten a lot better finding NEW stuff, especially visiting L.A., but used, forget it! Your advice for learning menus is really helpful, and those crepes made me so hungry...the best crepes I ever had were in Japan...😫

Oh and it is so overpriced overseas but super reasonable at Book Off. I've been trying not to hoard Japanese magazines and manga but it is tough.. haha! OOF tell me about it, since this video was filmed I am STILL screwed with my left shoulder. My physio tried to relocate it for me last week but it just won't stay in socket so now we're onto slings, rest, KT Tape, and exercise to try and build the muscle to hold it back in place. I had a good cry, and nice "woe is me" last week in the morning then wiped away my sniffly nose and got back to building a ladder. I think us EDSers are pretty dang tough.

Dearest Martina, I adore your content! Thanks to you I feel like I'm having a friend during the days when I actually have noone. Can't wait for the next video! Also I have a humble request - if you feel like making a livestream with us while eating, drinking, talking about everything in the world, that would be so wonderful for those like me who will probably spend all holidays alone. All the best to you and lots of love!

I started this video with not enough coffee and definitely thought the soba advice was a continuation of learning your limits on what you can carry...I was like "This is an interesting metaphor but I'm kind of confused???" 😅Amazing editing as always though :) I love watching these. They give me good vibes for my own difficult, dark days. Happy questing, Martina!

This warms my heart so much. I struggle with depression. And seeing this video in the perspective of “building a ladder,” gives me inspiration on how to live day to day.

I really love and appreciate these sorts of videos. I recently had knee surgery, so it’s been a struggle to build my ladder. So, through these videos it truly feels as though I’m there with you and experiencing these sites. I wish you all the best and hope you know that you have a lot of people rooting for you.

I am absolutely loving these food adventure videos, it feels like going out with a friend to try new amazing eats. The peaceful scenery is so lovely, it has been a stressful week and this was exactly what I needed. Thank you for making a happy place for all of us Martina, you make it so much easier to build our ladders on hard days.

This makes me so happy. I've been watching you videos for so many years now, and stopped around the time you went back to Canada because I couldn't handle the negativity that was going on in the community. I'm so glad I found out about your new channel last night. Your videos have brought me so much comfort in the last few years and this video is no exception. ❤️

Simple adventures are the best! I have not been to Japan, but it is my next overseas adventure. I use a very effective method for having meaningful adventures. When I was in Rome for five days, I planned a Morning event, and an afternoon event each day. That’s it! If I was too tired after my morning thing, I’d exchange my afternoon event for an easier, less taxing one from later in the week, and move today’s event into that time slot. Worked like a dream! Plenty of time to rest, eat, shop, whatever! I tried to schedule things that required tickets or reservations for the mornings so I was well rested (and these events couldn’t be rescheduled last minute, so best to do them while I was fresh). I never felt rushed or pressured to be somewhere at a certain time because I had A PLAN!! It allowed me time to add mini-adventures between scheduled events that I hadn’t even thought of! I got to stick my hand into the Mouth Of Truth, like in the movie “Roman Holiday!” Simple adventures lead to the best memories and experiences in life. Don’t just rush through life. Savor it!

I remember when you were just learning hiragana, and look at you now! Speedreading Kanji menu's like it's nothing! That really is amazing and makes me think I can do it too :D Can't believe I never thought of JUST studying kanji related to food. That's genius.
