Wow, The Twilight Zone and played on a double neck (Something FOr Nothing too). I thought I knew everything about this band 🤯. THE NECROMANCER FOR FS 🤯🤯🤯, Alex small guitar and Geddy's teardrop shape bass. THIS IS THE HOLY RUSH GRAIL.

Man so cool hard to believe it took so many years for people to figure out how AWESOMELY talented and killer these guys were. I myself was into KISS, Aerosmith, Nugent, and other rock bands around 75-77. Then my cousin had a Jean jacket with what I now know as the 2112 font cover put on the back. I asked him what’s RUSH 2 1 1 2 mean with a star? He said “you and your damn Kiss junk here listen to this band”. We sat over the next few hours listening to 2112, and A Farewell To Kings. I NEVER before or since have heard ANYTHING that I have been so obsessed with in music. Fan forever…… I didn’t get to see them til the Hemispheres tour but when I did there was NOTHING like it. Like it all but LOVE the 70’s RUSH!!!!! R.I.P. Neil Peart nobody ever did it better

I like that idea, to pause the image with fade so we can see all the frames from the reel and to hear the audio in a less chopped up way. This is quite amazing to finally see thee footage from many concerts! Thank you G Music and the folks at The Genesis Museum!

When I did events with this drumset ("Chromey"), I wish we had footage like this to show what it was like to see that kit in an official live performance-in color! There is very very little live footage of this available. To be part of the crew from its restoration to bring it to the fans to see (and play!) is still one of the greatest projects have been part of. Thanks for posting this! 👍 My friend Dean was the guy who bought it and financed its restoration. It was an emence project that involved a lot of people. A lot of gratitude to those experts who painstakingly provided all the details to restore it to its last played condition. The showing events helped raise lots of funds for various charities. "Chromey" made a positive difference and made many dreams come true. Thanks again for this contribution to the early history of Rush. This is incredible to see. Well done!

Absolutely fantastic to see this finished. That sync was clearly a nightmare to work on with all the short clips, but you handled the transitions really well. We really appreciate all the hard work! So much to unpack in this that everyone should make note of. 1) It's the first time we see (clearly) that projection during Temples of Syrinx, a Star Trek fan would recognize that alien from the season 1 episode "The Corbomite Maneuver". Some old documents state they used images from Star Trek, well this is it! 2) It's extremely cool to finally see some footage of The Twilight Zone, a song they only played for approximately 5 months. Note how Alex uses his doubleneck on the song, I didn't know. 3) Geddy playing sitting down during the quiet part of By-Tor, something you don't see with Rush (Steve Hackett). We knew Ged brings out his doubleneck here in preparation for The Necromancer, based on some commentary in the Dec 31 audience audio bootlegs, but of course it's really cool to see. 4) Also, EXTREMELY cool to finally see footage of The Necromancer. We also knew Geddy uses his doubleneck to play rhythm guitar on Return of the Prince on the ATWAS tour, but again, it's really cool to see. Before they introduced an early version of Xanadu around April 24, this was the song Geddy first used his doubleneck for starting in late 1976 5) Neil using mallets on In The End, that's new and interesting to see. 6) The mini guitar Alex comes out with at the conclusion to Neil's drum solo is possibly unique to this show, or at least done very few times. I'd spent days trying to figure it out, but I'm not certain what it is. An acquaintance of mine feels certain it is something called a "Mando guitar", so that could be what it is. 7) Last note of interest, GM synced with the April 17 Washington, DC audio bootleg (and others as well) since there is no known audio tape of this particular concert, and not really any others of nearby dates for that matter. If you have audio tapes of early Rush that you'd like to share, and even footage, please get in contact with someone! These are important pieces of Rush history that would help further preserve a largely undocumented era for the band. I may be forgetting something else to note, though clearly there's a ton of cool stuff to see here.

This era in RUSH history is magical and legendary. To capture this concert must have been a labor of love and thank you for doing it. Some things I never knew (and I thought I knew everything about Rush), the alien from the Star Trek episode The Corbomite Maneuver appeared as the priest as a backdrop during Presentation. The prodigious use of double necks. I thought they started using them on the Farewell to King's tour but apparently Alex uses it for Something for Nothing and The Necromancer.

Alex would play his red EDS-1275 so much in those days even on songs that didn't require the 12 string because it played so well. Unfortunately it got damaged and was never the same after. He would pretty much only use his newer white EDS-1275 got songs that required the 12 string & 6 string.
