There are many people in the church that have been filled with the Holy Ghost and they're doing absolutely nothing with it. That's why, what we speak is so important. That's why the scripture says: Death and life is in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). Some of you have been binding the devil and you should be binding yourself. Put your hand on your own head and say, "I bind myself in Jesus’ name." Because you don't even need a devil to come curse you! You are super good at cursing yourself! You are generating something when you begin to speak. You are generating something: when you start cursing your job, you start cursing your home, you start cursing your kids, you start cursing your environment… you don't think it's cursing.
You are cursing it because your mouth is a generator. That's why the prophet said, "God put a, set a coal to my lips." Help me understand your words have power. Jesus said, "My words are power. They are spirit and they are life." When we speak, we generate things. Come on. When you're singing, when you're worshiping when you're decreeing, when you're praying when you're speaking in tongues, you're generating things. It's not just making a sound, it's a generator. That's producing power. Put your hand on your belly. Just speak in tongues for just a second.
Some of you need to go home and start writing a decree over your finances, over your kids, over your job. You need to start writing a decree because all hell breaks and you want to start immediately start speaking death. Whereas if you have a decree written, you can say, “You know what, God, everything's going wrong. I'm going to say what you said. I'm going to decree what you said. I'm going to speak what you said. I'm going to generate life. I'm going to generate breakthrough. I'm going to generate the miracle. I'm going to generate things. Listen, your miracle is voice activated.”
Your breakthrough is voice activated. Your healing is voice activated. I'm telling you we have the power by the holy ghost to activate things by our voice. We live in a voice activated world. I was driving my car, praying in tongues at the top of my lungs and out of my purse, Siri said, I'm sorry, Jane. I don't understand anything you're saying. Seriously, I kept praying in tongues. She says, "I still don't understand what you're saying."
They actually have medical evidence. Here I am back to the science of it all. They have actually medical evidence of what happens when we speak in tongues at Penn University up in Pennsylvania, they did this study where they put somebody under an MRI machine, and they watched what happened to their brain when they spoke in tongues. First, they had them pray prayers in English and the language center in the frontal lobes of the brain appropriately lit up. But when they started speaking in tongues, the language center was completely dormant. And another part of the brain that doesn't light up any other time was lighting up. You know why? Cause when we speak in tongues it doesn't come out of our language. It comes out of our spirit. And another study was done at Oral Roberts University, and they did this lengthy study about what happens in the brain when people pray in tongues and they found that when people pray in tongues, it secretes two chemicals that can boost your immune system 30-40% In the days of COVID I think that's an important discovery, right?
Let me read you what this word, Dunamis actually means in the Greek. It means force, might, strength. How many believe for more strength? It means abundance and wealth. It means power to produce change. Dunamis. I mean we; it also means miracle working power. That's normally what we teach God that God's going to baptize us with miracle working power. How many want that? But how many also want power to produce change? It also means the strength and the might of an army. It means the anointing to overcome. How many overcomers are here today? James 5:8 says "The effectual, fervent, fresh start prayer of a righteous man avails much."
