The Whacka fight is way easier than the Mush fight. Mush demands that you superguard just to open him up to damage. It’s optional for Whacka, because you can use Koops’s Shell Shield to block all damage for one turn.

God, hearing the first note of God Shattering Star when Mush and Whacka's emails came up is terrifyingly fitting. And I don't even play Fire Emblem. As well Brent, you wrre indeed correct on your hypothesis with Whacka. He can indeed eat his bumps to heal 25 HP. Further, its very nice you never were engaged by the red bumps. They deal 25 HP and god forbid he eats it, as they heal for 75. As I found out the hard way.

Correct, the normal bumps give 25 HP and the red bumps give 75. The red bumps also deal 25 damage. He seems to be quite overleveled so his high attack power carried him pretty hard through both of these fights (he fought mush especially late, you can get to him as early as chapter 4)

I didn't spend a single level up on anything but bp until I hit 99 and couldn't pick it anymore. Hp Plus and FP Plus badges are like free trips to Rippos's that you can do from the menu. 10 hp PoOHT is anxiety inducing every turn you spend at 6 hp, every Amazee Dayzee, every (Elite) Wizzerd, every Bobulk, every stage hazard, every enemy attack item, and every charging Poison Puff.

He's got 108 HP because of the significance behind the number in Eastern cultures such as Hinduism and Buddhism. The 108 temptations one must resist to achieve Nirvana. They ought to rename this dungeon the Pit of 108 Trials and add powered up versions of the chapter bosses at the final 8 or something.

You were correct about Whacka occasionally using his bumps to recover hp. He didn't eat the regular bumps when I fought him so I don't know how much they recover, but he can eat the red bumps to recover 75 hp, so you were very lucky that he never did it for you.

Rather than just using the hammer, try some of your partner attacks for example. 14:14 - Well, seeing as you've been able to fight him for like, the past 5 chapters... and you're in post-game, post-100 pit, that little exp makes sense. 15:44 - Unlike other fight songs, this theme gets a unique name: "Attack-a of the Whacka!". Can I just say Brent, I had a harder time battling shadow queen than I did with bone tail. I fought that dragon after i finished the beach level, even though I died a couple of times I didn’t have to go back, stock up on end game items and rethink my strategy compared to shadow queen. Still though, bonetail put up quite a fight, I lost every ally, all I had left was my self, no items, barely any fp and Yoshi on 4 hp. the most rewarding fight i’ve ever done.

The Prince Mush battle was insane! Funny enough, it's not just the fact that he powers up like Goku, but the two are also former champions. For Goku, it was the World Martial Arts Tournament, for Mush, it's the Glitz Pit. Come to think of it, Mush's clothes have a similar color scheme to Goku's Gi in Dragon Ball GT, though the pants are black instead of yellow. This Toad *radiates* Goku energy!

The key for doing the Pit is have flower saver and Flower Finder, it is so good and allows you to keep a steady use of FP on battles, keeping a unsimplifier for steady use of Special Moves and rest of BP for Attack Up badges for both and GGs. Usually I kept items that restored both HP and FP in case but for Bonetail just keep a trial stew and equip a couple of danger badges and power rush and battle is over before you know it. I did my pit at 30hp, so I kept partners as shields and abuse Quick Change for Yoshi 😂

Fun Fact: The Whacka fight is able to be done as many times as you want. The first time as Brent showed gives the Golden Whacka Bump. All subsequent victories against Whacka will reward you with another Whacka Bump to use. Makes it so people that make a mistake or two with using Whacka Bumps aren't locked out of 100% completion.
