I don't spam projectiles with Wolf either. I mainly try to play Wolf in a similar way to Melee Fox mixed with Brawl Wolf: Several aerial, dash, and Smash attacks while using the laser and reflector when necessary. I don't really use Up Special due to its long startup and don't use Side Special because of how it stupidly sends him into a freefall.
