Kings, a South Korean friend of mine showed me a column from one of their publications where one of their most respected poets or lyricists had written a letter to their country's president offering him some advice for how to deal with the tremendous stresses that come with the job and having to deal with three quite hostile nuclear armed neighbours. He told him to listen to Sohyang sing because she has a power that is almost beyond explanation to sooth a person's innermost tensions, which as you can imagine is very high for the president of that nation. Personally, I don't think the vast majority of South Koreans appreciate how great a singer Sohyang actually is. If somehow Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston or Celine Dion were South Korean I think they would be incredibly famous throughout their country. But because Sohyang is native born she is not given the honour her prowess deserves even though she is easily as great as any of these North American divas. As Michael Bolton said after hearing her sing "Lean on Me," she is a _true_ vocal virtuoso. There is no higher level of achievement for any singer. Yet she remains, while not obscure there, still only well known in certain circles. I think South Koreans are overawed by the American music industry and the divas it produced, though Celine Dion is Canadian. "A prophet is not honoured in his own land" goes the old saying and it is too often true. Here is another gem from Sohyang which she sings with only keyboard accompaniment. It is called "His Eye is on the Sparrow" and you are going to love this one! There is a short but very interesting conversation between Sohyang and the host of the program before she just absolutely knocks everybody out with this incredible display of her talent. Looking over what you have already reacted to, seems you have done what is considered her starting list, with most of her top performances. She has of course many more, KDramas, gospel and Christian music, her own music, duets, stage and other one off type performances. It really depends what direction you would like to go in. I would say dive more into Begin Again Korea (BAK) or King of Mask Singer. (KOMS) You have not done any of those yet. Maybe time to see other sides of Sohyang. "Mona Lisa" from KOMS (more rocky number) "Misty" from BAK (Jazz) "Day-Day" is a group song from BAK, this is a super fun song, won't spoil it by saying why. "Oh Holy Night" from I Am A Singer. (Purple dress) "Flashlight" a duet from BAK "It's Only My World" (another rocky number from I Am A Singer) "The Songs begins" Is a another fun one Sohyang did with her sister in law and its also a music video. A seven minute masterclass in vocal technique, breath control and emotion. Arguably the most technically challenging and emotional song she has ever sang. By the way the non English part was in Korean. I'm surprised you don't know she is Korean by now (you reacted to her 9 times). Thanks for the reaction, enjoyed it.

45yrs old, she just gets better with age, watch her in BEGIN AGAIN outdoor concerts singing with a lot of young up and coming amazing ARTISTS and how much they are in awe of her, shes just magnificent, shes just done a recent cover of a KPOP girlband and absolutely blew the original out of the water, the song is called I AM, she is a gospel singer, she has a lot of gospel performances on her channel as she is a very Christian LADY 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

Also, since you asked, Sohyang is South Korean and the song is in Korean and English. And yes, the difficulty was from the emotions, the length of the song, the dynamics and most of all the sustained high belting throughout. Not trying to be rude but Sohyang is Korean so you can expect her non English songs to be in Korean. Not Chinese, Japanese or any other Asian language. She has only 1 song that I know of in Chinese, that she learnt especially for that one song. But if you always assume Korean you will be safe 99.9% of the time.
