I lived in Tempe AZ at that time. I went through all the emotions anyone would have. By that night I was worried about an anti Muslim back lash. I drove over to the local mosque about a mile. The steps were covered in flowers. I'm an atheist. I have never been so proud of Americans.

I've seen this video several times and it makes me cry each time. The tears are of joy at the selflessness of these people in times of distress. The human spirit can be so beautiful.

I was 17 when I watched 9/11 happen on tv at morning assembly. I can never forget that day and the thought of it will always make me cry for those we lost before and after the towers fell. Even the search and rescue dogs got so depressed that the handlers would hide in the rubble just so they could perk up from finding someone. This day was a seed to my patriotism, it was the day I knew as much as we may disagree American's will pull together in a time of need. You could feel the LOVE we had for each other that day. It is a feeling I pray we embrace again in these troubled times. Americans CAN and WILL UNITE when we NEED too. I just wish it did not take catastrophic events like this for it to happen.

I love this reaction video! A lot of people forget the other horrible events of that day and how the heroes of that day ran towards danger to save lives instead of allowing the fear that terrorists ultimately use as their strongest weapon to take over. The terrorists thought they won...but in reality they lost.

Thank you. I completely agree with that. I don't think they anticipated this reaction at all. Everyone coming together for a common goal. 🙏

I was a sophomore in high school and had stayed home sick that day. My grams came and got me up to see it on the news it was awful and terrifying I remember when the second plane hit the building my grams had this look of absolute shock and fear I think I had the same look on my face.

Beautiful reaction! You are so right that we saw the worst and the best that day! If we would put the best of us towards everyone everyday then things like this would never happen! Thank goodness that when people show us their ugly side there are people who show their beautiful side!

It goes unmentioned here, but the fuel suppliers on the water gave free gas to those boats until their supplies ran out.

There is another event from 9/11 that many people forget. That day, there were 4 planes hijacked. 3 of them hit their targets. The 4th one, United Airlines Flight 93 went down in a field in Pennsylvania. The passengers and crew found out what was going on in NYC, and knowing they were not going to survive anyway, they fought back and forced the plane to go down in a field. They sacrificed themselves to save strangers on the ground. Its believed their plane was to hit DC. Please react to a movie called United 93. Its very hard and heavy, but its a true story of good winning over evil. The passengers and crew of United 93 had no idea Sept 11 2001 was they day they would become Legends.

I was watching a documentary about this and they said that the passengers on flight 93 were the first ones to fight the war on terror. It was very touching.

There are a number of videos (and a Broadway play) about that. Gander, Newfoundland, doubled its population in under an hour when the diverted planes landed there.

I like reaction videos but I don't like when the reaction is more important than the story. This story should never be eclipsed. Your reaction and respect was perfect. This event was a triumph of the human spirit as much as a reflection of everyday Americans. I wish more Americans knew about this as it might be a reminder of what we used to be.

It really was the best and worst of days here in the states. Lots of shock. Lots of rage. But also a sudden 'we're all Americans right now, that's all that matters, time to step up'. Lines wrapped around blocks all over the country for blood bank donations (embarrassingly, I couldn't even though I went. The line was almost 3 hours long and round about hour 3 my dumb backside had forgotten to eat and passed RIGHT out in the line. I now keep a candy bar on me all the time... but hey, at least I provided a nice distraction and laugh for the line. If you can't be physically helpful, being a court jester in the times of strain carries it's own job, I suppose. Apparently I jerked away muttering about squirrels and the two Marines in line with me almost fell down giggling. Strain so tight, you need to laugh or you will shatter or rage), van loads of supplies ranging from food, baby clothes to medical supplies and blankets started rolling within a few hours of the attack. As angry, confrontational and divided we seem, one of the amazing things here is, in times when it's needed, everyone throws in and just acts. The US kind of reminds me of a big family. We will fight, cuss, yell and swear we're never talking to a cousin or brother ever again, but God help the person outside who hurts someone. My older brother would tease and generally act a bit of a jerk with me - but if someone at school tried it? Hell fell on their heads. We did/do the same as a country.

HI JENNA LUTZ, thank you so much for sharing your story, it is so humbling to hear someone that was right in the middle of it all, it must have been absolutely terrifying. Being able able to reflect and laugh at what was a period that could be best forgotten for some. All the best to you and your family.

Just normal everyday average people doing extraordinary things when their hearts and brains tell them too!!!!! You really can’t plan for this. It either happens in the moment spontaneous or it doesn’t!!!!! Americans always step up when the most dire of straits happens!!!!! Too bad we all can’t live with this urgency on a daily basis!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!! 🫣
