Kings County kids found safe, father in custody for mother's murder, officials say

More than two days after a South Valley mother's murder, her two children were found safe and their father is in custody. Kings County Sheriff's Deputies say 23-year-old Jonathan Maldonado-Cruz turned himself in at the Mexican border sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. He's accused of killing 22-year-old Madeline Rose Cuevas, who would have celebrated her 23rd birthday on Valentine's Day.

This made me cry. Those poor girls-they may not remember much later, but right now, they just don’t know how to put their emotions into words. Still, I know they’re hurting. I’ve seen videos of little girls reuniting with a parent after just a few weeks apart due to travel or other reasons, and the joy is so overwhelming that they break down in tears. My heart goes out to them and both families.

I definitely prayed for this situation! I actually remember agreeing WITH her family in prayer because I just KNEW they were praying! It’s so tragic I use to be in a abusive relationship and I’m so happy I got out before anything happened. I seen myself in the young mothers eyes as someone who was young mother with 2 babies at the time. May she rest in peace and prayers to her family.
