I got one earlier this year, first thing I did was clean out the Grease in the box and put lots of new Grease in. Used it twice to get unstuck and worked really well so far.

Yeah nice one! I was a little surprised that it’s worked so well for me over the past two years, given the price difference between this and the big brands
@Boschy2 жыл бұрын
@shaneod yeah mate I thought exactly the same. And like you said in the video, it's so cheap that if it lasts a few years and dies, you buy another one and it's still cheaper than the big brands

All winches need regular maintenance. The Domin8r Xtreme is a rare case where something from Adventure Kings is actually good. If you service your winch every 6-12 months, one of these would be just as reliable as (and in some cases, more reliable than) anything from other, more expensive manufacturers. When you do notice that something is on the way out, replacement parts, or even a complete replacement winch is easy to acquire. For me, my Hidden Winch cradle had limited space and the Domin8r Xtreme was the only 30m, 12,000lb Winch that would fit. The only other options were a 15m, 6500lb ATV winch or a much more expensive 30m, Warn EVO-10S.

Why did you replace new grease with grease?
@Boschy4 ай бұрын
@tomskimcdouglegaming806 I used penrite marine Grease just encase water does work its way in. Still works, used it 3 times so far and on very heavy pulls. Hasn't failed me yet

G'day! I had one in my Hilux prior to my Colorado and had no issues so I put a brand new one it. I don't use witches often as I try not to get stuck in the first place, however it's nice knowing that it's there and it works should the need arrive. I can't see the sense in spending huge money on something that one gets used once in a blue moon! Some people say that they are cheap and nasty but if you look after them, they'll last for ages.
@shaneod5 ай бұрын
That’s it mate, like anything, as long as it’s taken care of they will last a long time. I actually just put a new one in as my old one finally did breakdown but it lived a hard life and did the job when I needed it 👍🏻

Nice one mate. I have one on my car. I found that mine seized after a deep bog hole and about 10 months of no use. I managed to free it and the pulled it apart for a service where I found 1 of the spider gears had seized onto it's shaft. I put it back together with new grease and got it working better. Not wanting to be let down in a time of need I bought a new Dominator Xtreme which I pulled apart and put extra grease in it for better lubing. I have a video of me doing this on my channel if you're interested. Cheers Jim

I have heard of them seizing after months of no use, can be a tricky thing seeing how time goes by so fast. Good idea about the extra lube on the new kit, hopefully you don’t see the same issue moving forward. Might have a watch after my next purchase, cheers mate

Thanks for the video, just bought one for the old GU. The WARN that come with my car is a ticking time bomb. I cleaned it out years ago, I had to use an expanding foam ear plug and an angle grinder brush to get me out of trouble one day (The whole brush assembly was rusted away and brush and tail was broken out bush the ear plug is effectivly the spring :P) and it's been there and worked several times since haha. Just picked this up for $399. figure I can't go wrong. It looks like a solid unit!!!

Love the use of the angle grinder 😂👌🏻 definitely the tool to fix anything 😂😂 Keen to hear how it goes for u, my mate with a patrol has one as well and it’s pulled him outta some situations too

@shelbytops they can definitely take some punishment. It’s now about 4 years on and the solenoid just went on it but with what it’s been through it’s just a quick swap out and it’ll be back up running again 💪🏻💪🏻

Good clip mate … winches are cheap insurance for that once every now and then winch out … warn are great but even theirs are made in China now, it’s all the same stuff mate, just rebranded and rebadged. Warn were made in America in the good old days but that’s why they were also $2,000 - $ 3,000 too Keep up the good work mate. P.S - how’s the awning holding up too ?
@shaneod Жыл бұрын
Cheers mate. Sounds about right, the quality of things these days ain’t like it used to be. The awnings holding up great so far, no leaks and still sitting in strong. Pretty happy with it actually 😎
