Does anyone else have problems with people photo bombing your snaps when sightseeing? Pisses the hell out of me. I went on lots of day trips to some really nice places last year and every time I tried to take a photo of an historic building some 🤡 felt the urge to be part of it. Shouted at one man, said do you know me, he said no, why? I asked why he thought I'd want a photo of some random stranger who jumped in to my castle snap. I did'nt travel 80 miles to have some idiot ruin my photo. Luckily I used digital camera and deleted him with a sod off to boot. I like architecture in my photos, not self entitled knob heads.

I live in the US, I don't understand why so many tourists feel that they have a right to touch these guardsman (horses included) when they visit London. They should do some research of their own when they are planning a trip to another country, at least check to see what customs they have in the country they are planning to visit. It's about showing respect when you visit another country that has different customs than your own country/culture.

It takes a lot of training, dedication and hard work to become a guard to this degree and therefore you should not bother them in any way. You can take photos, sure, but please be respectful of their post and their job, because they are not allowed to move away from their post and are allowed to use force if you don’t comply. It’s not funny to have them yell at you. It’s a genuine threat issued by military men (you have to have done the British army Recruit training). Keep it real, the kings guard is tourist attraction with the sole purpose to remind you that there's important and powerful people that own you. If they REALLY want to keep that door safe, it would automatically require high tech and more than a sword to protect it from real threats, that fool and his horse would drop dead before the real help arrives.

I was touring London last year and I saw a lot of this. It is a wonderful city but these guys are not for show! They are there for a job. It’s surprising how some people can’t respect that.
