Just before the most important part of the ceremony when the Escort FOR the Colour becomes the Escort TO the Colour and it is paraded before the Battalion. This is in order that the Officers and Other Ranks know their Colours in order to know their place on the battlefield. Quis Seperabit? Faugh a Ballagh! A centuries old tradition.

Are you ex guards? You seem to know your stuff. I was Coldstream Guards 1972-1978

@@robjudsonmedia Hi Rob, no, I was R Irish , Bugle Major and then at the end RAMC. I did “Ringer” a few times with the Micks and the Light Division in the 90’s and 2000’s. I was quite heavily involved with Drill and Ceremonials around France. I trooped when the 6 Royal Irish Battalions received new colours in 2000 but I never did a real Troop like you guys. The Current Band Master R Irish is an ex Coldstreamer.but he’d have been in the 1980’s. Ian
