RIDE IN THE FRONT. I used to hate it because it was rough, but if you sit in the front it’s a lot better.

Thank you for not shitting on Orion. I love that ride, and I hear enthusiasts all the time downing it. I don't think it deserves the hate. It's my favorite ride at Kings Island now, and I have to say... I do like it better than Millenium Force. Not to trash Millie, it's a great ride. I just feel like Orion does everything that Millie does and does it better. The only thing negative I could really say about it is it does feel like it could and should be a little bit longer. But all in all, I definitely think it's an Elite coaster, and certainly should be in that top spot. PS: On Son of beast, I only rode it one time after the loop was taken out and it was terrible... But I also rode it a bunch of times early in it's lifespan... Including several in it's opening year, and back then it was definitely at least "great"... It was EXTREMELY rough later on in its life... But when it opened it wasn't much rougher than the beast. Wish some of you younger folks had got to ride it back then. You'd have a different view of it.

Firehawk was a great one. Sad that the flying dutchman models might not be around too much longer. I hope more new vekoma flying coasters open worldwide in the future.

Agree with your top 3 and the subjective order...that's one of the things that makes Kings island elite, ask 10 people to list their top 5 coasters and you might get 10 different responses.

Nice video! I agree about Banshee. Best invert and the restraints are not bad. I was shocked at how fun the racer was! And it had great airtime as well. Adventure express really excels at night and that alone makes the ride a very good ride to me. Backlot is more intense that people expect and it is alot of fun. Diamondback is the best hyper have been on and has the best floater airtime with a few quick ejector moments on the second half. I feel like in the front you can feel a drag ask you are pulling a longer train due to the staggered seating but you are right. An elite coaster. Mystic timbers is my favorite in the park and is insane with the pacing. I agree it is a great night ride but I think it is not as good as the beast because they always have some lights around the road areas so it is not completely dark like the Beast or the Voyage. My goodness the voyage at night is what I wish mystic would look like at night. I am so happy that you said Orion is elite because I agree. I can understand that most people were upset because it does not compare (from a layout standpoint) when compared to Fury but the pure speed is amazing. I personally think Orion is by far better in the front (As is fury) because there is nothing like feeling the pure speed or feel of going 91 mph and having the full force of the wind hit you in the face. The back pulls a bit too many positive g's for me at the bottom of the first hill an the one major airtime hill is killed in the back due to the trims. Great list and agree with most of you assessments. I think KI has the best top 5 coaster lineup in the country.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I agree, Mystic is great, and by far my favorite GCI. The Beast is one of the best night rides in the world. And people had too high of expectations for Orion. I know the layout was a disappointment, but at some point we have to get over it, move on and appreciate it for what it is.

The back right seat is the best in banshee. The beetle was a wild mouse and wasn’t very rough. I didn’t ride the original bat.

FINALLY! Im not the only one that prefers Orion a slight bit more than Diamondback! I actually like that most hills go very high on Orion. I've done I305 & Fury325 but Orion is more my style. Despite being shy about displaying its height in the name... It lets you know repeatedly that it is a huge coaster... Except in duration 😅 it's quite a tease; ending brake run being within 3ft of the height that The Racer STARTS its journey 😅 I would say I like... Millie a slight bit less.. but that you get more bang for your time waiting.. Orion is equal to fury for me.. for different reasons. im not big on low to the ground speed... Unless you're actually close to things... To tell that you're going fast. Low on Orion may have worked better being adjacent to the woods..but we'll never know! & KI removed trees excessively in that triangular space anyways so... Who knows.

I consider Banshee to be an elite ride, perhaps one of the best inverts in the world. Definitely a top 3 coaster at KI. Personal preference, but I've always enjoyed inverts, so it's really a perfect match. Unpopular opinion, I'm not the biggest Diamondback fan. I appreciate the airtime, but for whatever reason, it messes with my stomach after a couple re-rides. Especially now with Orion, it's kinda been superseded imo. Speaking of Orion, I think it's the best ride in the park. Diamondback focuses on airtime, but Orion is pure speed. Yeah, it's short, but it packs a punch. Great theming too. I was originally underwhelmed by Mystic Timbers, but it's really grown on me over the years. Good ejector airtime. (Although the shed is pretty stupid.) My top 3 are Orion, Banshee, and Mystic Timbers, with Diamondback as a close 4th. The Beast is still legendary. In the daytime, it can feel like a rough wooden coaster, but at night, it is a unique experience on a train through the woods in pitch black that feels like it's about to fly apart at any second. It skirts the line between being thrilling, but still being legal to operate. Truly nothing else like it in the world. FOF is good on a hot or rainy day, and has a decent launch, but it is very rough, and the trains are some of the most uncomfortable I've ever ridden. Usually a one and done for me. BLSC is basically just FOF outside, and with no inversions. The theming for both rides is good though. The Bat (the new one) is not very memorable for me, I always seem to remember the walk out to it more than the ride itself. The Racer is a classic woodie, and has some decent airtime. The recent retrack has helped, but otherwise, not much to say tbh. I've never loved Invertigo. Terrible capacity, and the ride never seems to be worth the wait. It's also been closed the last few times I've been there. Adventure Express is cool for what it is. Decent theming, and was actually my first ride (I skipped the kids rides). Vortex used to be a favorite of mine, but I really started to notice the rough transitions, and the Arrow trains were very cramped. I sorta miss it, but when Banshee was built, it really got surpassed. I managed to ride SOB once when I was young, but it was without the loop, and with the Gerstlauer trains. It was thrilling, but very rough. Might have been a great RMC candidate if the structure wasn't so bad.

Mystic timbers should be super elite, (in my opinion at least) it is my number one out of 68 roller coasters that I have ridden. I think that it is one of the most relentless and the best paste with great airtime roller coasters I have ever ridden, and that includes Maverick, steel vengeance and raptor at cedar point.

Banshee is my favorite ride in the park. I know a lot of people who are bigger than me have a rough time with the restraints, but they've never bothered me. Backlot for sure is the most underrated, I'd put it up at least 1 tier. Miss the water splash at the end though.

I have not ridden The Beast since the retrack, but I can agree based on my 2021 experience that it definitely got knocked down several notches in my ranks. Every ride hurt me so much i was heartbroken that my once favorite coaster there was so unpleasant. I hope to give it another go in the future as I used to love it so much.

It is much better after the retrack but if you want to guarantee a smoother ride make sure to get or request a wheel seat.

All top 3 at kings Island are incredible. This park only needs one top 10 worthy ride to launch it into the stratosphere and they have a great spot for it where Vortex used to be. The only problem now is whether or not Cedar Fair is willing to build a coaster that risks taking attendance away from their crown jewel in the north. I'd love a ground up rmc hybrid themed after Son of Beast but they'll double up on Steel Vengeance. If I had it my way I'd build a new gen Vekoma Flier or a Mack Extreme Spinner.

I do feel Orion gets unnecessary hate because it isn't as good as Fury 325. Alot of people really expected B&M to top Fury and were upset when Orion didn't. I feel Orion is the perfect fit for Kings island. It's already a great park, it didn't need a record breaker, it just needed a reliable solid coaster. I feel Carowinds needed Fury as it's coaster line-up was very mediocre at best, Fury really upped the ante fir Carowinds. KI was already a great park before Orion it needed something to replace the gap left by Firehawk, but it didn't need to reinvent the wheel. B&M makes reliable, capacity boosting, gp pleasing yet very thrilling coasters. Orion filled that gap wonderfully. I really like it, I'd put Timbers and Diamondback ahead of it, but as you said the top 3 really are interchangeable under different circumstances.

the beast is definitely better than mystic timbers. I think for sure you ranked mystic timbers too high. Also I'd say that Orion is a slightly different diamond back. I like the first hill being higher but other than that the track as a whole i think is too similar to diamondback to be a necessary addition to the park. I rode intimidator 305 at kings dominion this past year and seeing how incredible that ride was in comparison to Orion it made me really dislike Orion as the gigacoaster that they decided to put into kings island.

Yeah, like I said in the video my top three at the park change almost every time I visit. Rode Diamondback in the back row and it was incredible, so it's probably my #1 at KI at the moment. The beast after the retracking is amazing, it just doesn't pull the forces I prefer (airtime) in a coaster which is why I ranked it lower than Mystic.

The sections that were retracked in 2020 were pretty smooth and more sections are getting retracked this offseason. Hopefully it'll be running as good as new in 2023.

You earned a new sub based on your opinion of InVertigo 💯😂 I LOVE InVertigo it's intense, the speed of the twisted inversions and the whip you get going in to them..Plus the forces when going backwards push my stomach out of my chest everytime LOVE THAT. I consider myself a Coaster Enthusiast , A bit of an outcast with alot of my opinions because I don't agree with the majority of mainstream thusies on a good amount of topics I am a member of ACE and The Coaster Crew so I'm officially an Enthusiast 😂 Anyways it drives me crazy when other thusies say how bad InVertigo is. There insane. Our takes on things is what makes us ourselves so if you genuinely agree with someone that's fine, BUT if you don't agree with someone then DONT AGREE!!! Too many thusies are afraid to voice an opinion different then the majority! Also my wife and I love Flight Of Fear. The Kings Dominion version is better imo but still love it @KI which is my 2nd Home park BTW i live outside of Cleveland of CP is my home but KI is my #2.....Thanks again 🙏🏽 ( oh and Orion is NOT A GIGA and Beast is elite 💯)

YES, someone else out here gets it! Invertigo is grossly underrated and I agree that Flight of fear gets too much hate. A lot of enthusiasts are afraid to go against the grain, but I plan to tell it like it is and give my honest opinion. Haha, I'm in the either/or boat when defining gigas, so for me a ride has to be either 300 ft tall or have a 300ft drop. Like if a coaster was 100ft tall but dove 200ft down a mountain (for a 300ft drop), the drop is what I personally care about since that is what is experienced on the ride, not the height. But thanks for the early support. I am constantly improving video quality and have some exciting projects coming in the future!
