I'm always surprised by how experimental "Because of the Times" was for them. I'm sad it wasn't a big hit. It could have led to them going in a really cool direction if that sound had matured.

@@DHILL82it was only by night. The interesting thing was I remember listening to that album for like a solid year or 2 before it blew up and there music started being broadcasted on mtv and everywhere else. That album came out in 08 but a lot of people didn’t hear use somebody or sex on fire till 2010 when it got discovered by mainstream platforms. Then When I saw them for the Come Around SUNDOWN tour the crowds were bigger and when I saw them at the Hollywood bowl in 2010 and they did Tahlina sky as the sun was setting and everybody went nuts making it clear most of the crowd there had been people that had been fans since the early days

The good thing about the Kings of Leon is that as they get more skill and experience, their old stuff sound way better than it did when it first came out. And I bet all you "old school" posers can't name a single song on Youth and Young Manhood besides Molly's Chambers.

Def a real Jam. This could have (should have) been the resurgence of real Southern rock..gritty, rowdy & long over do. I almost feel like Kings of Leon should have been this!! Love how he lets his pipes go on the vocals. "Sex on Fire & Somebody" to me almost seems a different band.

It's bizarre most bands speed up when performing live. These have slowed it down. And that extra layer of guitar is so bad.... In fairness the only decent thing was the solo.
