It's astounding how this band has changed its sound over the course of the years, but has still managed to retain the uniqueness it brought in their debut. We can spend our lifetimes debating the old versus the new, but the truth of the matter is: they were fucking great back then, and they're fucking great right now.

Sorry to hear your story, there isn't too much you can say to someone in so much pain but I will say this to you. Don't beat yourself up because you think you didn't treat her the way you should. She knows you love her and I'm sure the last thing she would want is for you to feel the way you do. Remember the good times you had and don't regret a single thing. Stay positive, it's what she would have wanted.

I needed this band in my twenties - I'm 50 and I listen to this with a gentler heart, a wiser head and a tougher skin - but because of music I’m choosing to travel into my elderhood without bitterness. I’ve had the pleasure of five decades of great music alive. Being born in the 60’s means I also enjoyed my mother and fathers music from the 50’s and 60’s. I’m nostalgic in composing my playlists but I’m youthful in my continued exploration and experimentation in my musical flavours on the menu in the 21st century. I work with youth and I enjoy their amazing breadth and depth of choices available to them from the four corners of the worlds musical horizons. In the wealth of my extensive musical collection I will treasure this song and this band as one of the best ... Blessings all who are healing from the broken stuff of life with love and levity. Stay hopeful, choose creativity, listen more and walk into your elderhood with a great playlist … that you are here enjoying The Kings of Leon means you’re on a great path. Never take the simple pleasure of a great song for granted. Vinyl is King - but I praise the rock gods for KZbin, Spotify, wifi and long drives in the sunset or starry kisses as the dawn leaves her lovers in the night while The Kings of Leon sing the Walls of any bitterness down. “The sun drowns no less than the ocean burns - the wise don’t leap from cliffs - they ascend on the wings of music.”

I heard this song about 1.5yrs ago in a diner right after my g/f of 9 years abandoning our son and I. I remember sitting in that diner feeling so utterly alone. A lot has changed since this feeling of solitude. I took my son and have full custody of him. He and I are better off without his mom. I met someone else since then and couldn't be happier. I was laying in bed last night and remembered that moment at the diner. I had to listen to this song again. It reminds of of some bad times but I cannot help but look back and reflect. I am smiling today.

@@IvryGagaryn I am very sorry you are in that difficult spot, Ivry. What got me out of that spot mentally was staying strong and knowing there was a light at the end of the tunnel. The moment you lose sight of that light, you can lose yourself in moments like that. If you can do that, then you will find yourself back watching this video smiling.

they haven't 'done it' for a while now. this country song is kind of boring. they've been steadily regressing since 2008's Only by the Night album. decent albums, but no tracks that have come close to the creativity, catchiness, and overall success as those in 2008. the lead single now Waste A Moment sounds like a B-Side track on their 2010 album Come Around Sundown

You tore out my heart You threw it away ….is the part of the song that hurts the most. Because it’s the part you remember that you finally trusted that one person, and you opened up your true self, let yourself be vulnerable for the fist time and only for your little heart to be ripped out, crushed and thrown. It’s not what you expected and it’s not what you deserve, you deserve love and you will find happiness once again.

Me and my fiance had a discussion about Kings of Leon and I told her about becoming a fan of the band around the time they put out their second record. And I loved everything they have done since then. Now that I'm older I find it strange that we (fans) compete over how long you've been a fan of a band or which sound was more "them" and I said instead of us arguing over what sound was better or whether or not I've loved them longer than you have or vice versa... How about every time Kings of Leon puts out a song from now until the day we pass on... How about we just say thank you. Because I am 30 years old now and I'm not a fan of this sound or that sound... I just love Kings of Leon... So everything they release until the day they don't is a gift.

Bollocks it's a good song. But it's not a KOL song, they are youth and young manhood and it would be great if that was the charting stuff. Not what we've had post 2007 to sell out stadiums and arenas., they have the opportunity to play that stuff to millions and play soft rock pap instead.

I must have missed the part where I was boasting. I wasn't even someone who went to the gigs back then as I was 10 so can't exactly call myself a 'fanboi', still had the CD though aha. The music was better and I will never get why bands once they hit commercial success just go away from completely what made them a band. I'm all for writing chart friendly songs but several albums of it. If they've truly gone away from the early stuff fair play to them that's there prerogative. I'm just gonna find it harder to like. But then that's the same for a lot of 21st century music. The funny thing is if caleb doesn't have shoulder surgery and had been able to play a full range of chords, then only the night may never had existed and this conversation wouldn't be happen. The irony of your comment is hilarious mind, your probably too narrow minded yourself to see the hypocrisy. Apologies for having a opinion you disagree with, get over yourself ya daft fucking bint(see i can be pointlessly offensive too.)

I could be wrong, but a good friend I'd mine told me that kings of leon lead singer wrote this song about his battle with addiction. It's powerful. I am in recovery and the worst time my heart has ever been broken was when I realized that I was, in a sick way, in love with something that I trusted and depended on....then I realized it the one thing I loved the most was trying to kill me. Strange, but it broke my heart more than it made me angry. I was so deceived. This song is amazing and truly touches on the grieving process. Oddly enough, after seeing the truth and going through that grief, it helps to remind myself every now and then how much my addiction hurt me and the people who cared about me. I'm so grateful that "the walls" did come down. Powerful analogy.

My soulmate, best friend, mother of my child, and wife of 10 years Ashley passed away on March 31st 2022..... So many of these songs held me together before they bonded us together ironically at this point could these songs could COMPLETELY tear me apart! In our 10 years together we went through so many things in life we went from the bottom of the deepest pit to see highest peak most of all we went from surviving life to living it 7 years into our relationship we have a perfect little boy when we had all but forgone the notion of having a child I will never be able to tell someone I love them and it be 100% truth because it will not mean the same thing to them that it meant when I said it to her she left me with the most amazing gift anyone could give... another life.... our little boy who's approaching 4 years old...

Lonely is one of the worst feelings in this world. We take a lot for granted sometimes. When the walls come down everything changes but it takes so much vulnerability. I too fought addictions and lost the love of my life bc of it when he left me bc of it. During that same time, month apart I lost my brother bc of addictions n suicide. Loneliness kiked in hard, there's loneliness from addictions bc its like a love too n it's gone. It's been 6 yrs clean of pp and alcohol. The first yr I did nuthin but look at the walls, no tv ... praying, thinking n crying. Each yr got better as God worked on my life to get me where I am today. I prayed God if this is the yr to let the walls go and be in a relationship..show me. Today I'm back with the man who left me bc of addictions. My first date at age 17, first love. Was married 30 yrs, (to another man), divorced..mutual agreement...grew apart. Right after... my love at 17, I was with for 2 n half yrs until he left me. Today we're back and both want it to be until we die. Sometimes it takes those walls to shatter to rebuild something beautiful. It's not safe to mess with your feelings when it's shattered, I didn't try taking my life, but in a way, I see now...I did by taking way too much pp n alcohol, was flat lined twice. I thank God for intervening, breaking walls and making me new. I'm so glad n happy for you, it's a hard thing to do, noone understand but the ones who've been there.🙏

When that song come out I found out the love of my life was moving back to Cali and I found out I had terminal squamous cells bone cancer and endometrial cancer. There was so many things I wanted to say the last night I saw him but I just walked out of his house instead of spending the last night with him. It was too hard to see him, be near him it was intense. Three years later the lights come back inside me. I had won against my cancers but my heart is still broken from the loss of him. I knew I couldn't follow him and ruin his life through my battle. I miss him even more today than the day he left. It's still hard to listen to this song plus a few more. It takes me back to that time and the pain comes rushing inside. I'm still single never dated again and I don't see myself dating any time soon. I fking miss you Jeremy. Love is forever.
