Probably one of the coolest funniest books I’ve ever read. Kings of the Wyld had me laughing out loud throughout the entire book and I always find myself recommending it to anyone who likes reading.

In some ways this book is akin to Sword of Shannara. The story is told in sections. The section will start and the character must get from point A to point B, and in that section there will be a beginning middle and end. Also there will be an obstacle they must overcome. Once the obstacle is overcome and the characters arrive at point B, a new section will begin. This is how the Sword of Shannara is written. In other words, both books tell crisply outlined stories. Every character has a purpose, every plot is well thought out. There is no wasted motion in this book. As a result, the book just flies by.

I read this last month and loved it. Eames came up with a clever idea and just executed the hell out of it. So much great humor but also a lot of heart. A great book - thanks for the review!

I recently just finished the audiobook, the narrator was amazing, especially his Moog! To me this is a satire/ spoof of fantasy, like Spamalot. It was fun.

Read it when it first came out and loved it. The 70's rock metaphors was awsome and the characters was just as easily imagened as a rock band as fantasy heros. The perfect mix for me. Loved the review Brian. You are the best!

Kings of the Wyld was great fun to read. Possibly the best Sword and Sorcery I've read in a long time. Maybe it's because I'm getting long in the tooth myself and my friends and I don't have the grand adventures we had in our youth.

I want to read this book for a while now. Unfortunately, the German translation is pretty bad. Most of the flippant tone of the book is completely gone in the translation, so I will stick with the original (as I should always do).
