So Far...So Good...So What... This album was such a HUGE influence on me and personally my favorite album by Megadeth. Jeff Young's writing and playing on this record is nothing less than masterful. Great to see David and Jeff jamming together again... Cheers boys, JDavis

I always say it, but I totally remember buying 'So Far, So Good...So What' on cassette back in 1988, 16 year old me loved this album. Really cool to see Jeff tearing it up, and not just the leads but nailing these killer riffs. His solo towards the end of 'Set the World Afire' was always one of my favs from this album, Jeff kills it here. Very cool! 'Mary Jane' is such a bad ass song as well.

I've been listening to Megadeth and going to every show since I was 13 when peace sells came out. They have over something like 130-140 songs. I've seen them play every song, I've been at every tour. The problem is as your song catalog gets so huge and you only have time to play maybe 10-15 songs you can't play them all. So before you leave a comment try thinking about the situation first. Sorry you didn't experience the whole ride ,but I did and I've seen them play every song. There's a few. songs that Dave Mustaine won't play anymore because they don't reflect his current lifestyle, like the Conjuring. Listen to the song Back in the day and pay attention to the lyrics. You just might learn something.

I've always had very contrarian opinions wrt music. While most Megadeth fans would say that the 'Friedman' era of Megadeth was the best I've always disagreed. My favorite era's of the band were the Chris Poland and Jeff Young eras of the band. Those two guys were very unique in their approach to the genre and they have not been duplicated.

The 1st time I saw Megadeth, it was Savatage, Megadeth, and Dio. Early '88. Maple leaf gardens, Toronto. If I remember right, Jeff young came out after Savatage's set, and helped them take their stacks down. He is a fukking excellent player, then, and now. Dave Ellefson might remember this: Mustaine couldn't get anything from his Jackson, so he went backstage, and got another one. Back and forth. No guitar, nothing. David Ellefson and the band kept going, with no Dave, no vocals. For half of the set. I saw Mustaine backstage, screaming at his roadie, he smashed that leather jacket with the tassels on the ground. The he came out with the the black Megadeth Jackson, for half of the set. I was blown away. David Ellefson might remember that. I hope he does, haha!! Dio fukking killed that night!!

Its wonderful to hear Jeff Young - ive been thinking of him for many years, no doubt he got dealt a very bad hand by Mustaine. Lets not forget, its Mustaine who wrote this amazing album "SFSGSW". Its a masterpiece. I think Ellefson will have the last laugh because Mustaine is nearing the end of his vocal ability - People are going to get tired of paying top dollar for 70 minute headline sets from Mustaine. Mustaine will have to give up the vocals soon, at that point Ellefson will get all the allumi together and tour the catalogue.

Singer guy did OK on vocals but those rhythm guitars need a lot of work. Same for the drums. They dragged on some parts, but I’m willing to allow that maybe that’s the way the band wanted them played. I love Dave Ellefson and Jeff Young, but they’re not exactly in their 20s anymore. Playing a few of these songs up to speed is challenging, believe me I know as I’ve been playing them for over 30 years. Still, I can definitely hear what they both brought to Megadeth so I have respect for what they’re doing. They might want to consider finding higher caliber musicians to match them.
