Master Crafted Gaming is coming at you with a new mini series of video's that aim to educate new fantasy wargaming players on the complexities of strategy - especially in Kings of War!
Kings of War Strategy Reports are NOT battle reports. These videos aim to showcase basic deployment strategy, how to set them up, how to use them, and how to counter if you find yourself lined up against one!

Nice, solid advice. I have forwarded a link to folks in my group that can REALLY use the help in their deployment. I win my games in my deployment and in their movement turns.... We use chess clocks - I make my plans while they are taking their movement. If they chatter away while I am taking my moves then I have an advantage that they have given away. One thing about Kings of War is that it is very easy for people of similar levels of skill to have many, many ties - my good lady and I went for almost two months without either of us scoring a major victory against the other. We still get more draws against each other than either of us winning. Including last night's game - where we used an altered turn sequence. Movement, Missile/Magic, Melee, Beer! This was her idea... I hold no responsibility for this. (Damn, it was fun.)

I for one am not yet tired of seeing undead vs herd :-) I'm glad you are mixing it up but please dont abandon those armies completely. You guys are the best KOW channel I've found. Keep it up! Thanks for everything.

Ha! I didn't see the "Robert Downey Jr." comment coming. But now that you mention it... :-P Awesome video! I really like hearing the thoughts on your strategy and why you choose to deploy the way you do. I'm curious if a situation will come up where the anchored-center deployment is not a good option. Perhaps on a board with some impassable terrain?

+Magnus Mercury The board dictates a lot in deployment...as does your opponents placements as you go back and forth. Ultimately try and achieve the defensive positioning for your hard flanks however they need to happen. I'd certainly use that impassable terrain to my advantage! If I can't move through it, neither can my opponent. Sitting back to defend against a flyer that decides it can jump over the far push with your flanks may be a safe bet. No one in their right mind wants to face a rear charge from a horde of anything.

I just got my Bloodmire Legion in the mail. Over 2,000 points of Undead which I got for a grand total of $116 (25% off through an online retailer plus a $15 credit I had there). And of course I already have my Empire army, which I can convert into a Kingdoms of Men/League of Rhordia list. I can't wait to play a game. :)

Does refusing a flank by stacking your slower anvil to one side and massing your faster assault units on the other to overload on flank and then pin with your anvil units.

Good job guys. You should ask Mantic to cut you a deal. They seem like a company that would support grass roots efforts to get folks involved. I'm looking for KoW players in my area bc of these videos.
