Stevie Wonder freeride snowboarding is harder. that’s why on the FWT the snowboarders all ride easier lines at slower speeds and with smaller tricks. Travis owned this one for sure.

Karl's run was sweet but he took an easier line into the second hit on the lower side of the mountain so that he could gain control and control his speed after the initial 5. The 2nd hit Trav took is up higher and a lot more difficult to even attempt a trick due to much higher speed after the initial 5 off the top. He was basically riding tight loose the whole way down but has the strength to not eat shit somehow. He did a full wheelie on the 2nd hit but I can guarantee you that if Karl took that same line, he would have ate shit just like everyone else who tried that line because of the speed and huge impact from the landing up top. Trav also added a butter in between the 2nd and 3rd hit. Karl's looked cleaner because he took an easier line. The athletes made the right choice because they know which line was more difficult.

Can’t judge skiing vs snowboarding. The landings will always be cleaner on skis in choppy or less than ideal snow. Skis just handle the terrain better. That said; you could argue that his margin of victory was even greater for accomplishing it on a snowboard. Other than the wash out on the initial drop, Rice had more hits and killed the last one with style.

So many salty skiers commenting...theres a reason non of the skiers dare try this on a mono board: one edge on each side. That alone is why Travis' run was better plus his tricks and line were better. Imo freeride/ style skiing just looks messier, planks and poles at all angles, flying through the air...just looks way more graceful does snowboarding.

Watched it three times, clearly Karl had more control, made his run appear smoother and consistent. But, TR is older, so factoring in age, TR still stomped it. Tough decision. Owell. At least no injuries, and all had fun, especially the spectators!

He dropped in switch and managed to keep it under control enough to hit the high jump, which is way harder. Also he had more hits, better hits and more speed. I loved watching that styled out 720 at the end, but overall I think I like watching all the skiers get triggered
