Thanks! It raises for large boats like this one maybe 3-8 times a week but it also raises for small sailing boats.

It raises more often than people realise and nearly always when I have to drive to work but the kings ferry bridge is just more convenient for where I have to drive lol

Very nice of an impressive structure which only operates not very often how did you know it would operate today and also I think I saw that tanker off Herne Bay earlier today that same one

Thanks, I saw the boat on marine traffic was due in this morning. The tides play a key role because larger boats can only go in the dock 4 hours before and 1 hour after high tide.

Why can't the 'bridge be lifted until the train has passed'?

Probably if the driver hasn't put his brakes fully he is slowly moving towards the egde
