Coloring my Pixie with Wella T18

Hi Kingsley! I recently found your channel and I love it... thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. I moved to a different city and can't find anyone who can color (bleach) my hair the way I like it, so I decided to try it myself. I researched a ton of videos - that's how I found you. When it was time to tone, I was going for an icy silver color. My hair was bleached and it turned out well, so I thought, "Well, now that the hard part is over, I just have to tone, and that's easy." Wrong! My hair color is now a darker shade of grey! I did more research and found out that this although toning is not overly complicated 🧐it is surprisingly easy to mess up. Unfortunately, messing up the amount of toner can lead to it turning grey if you use too much product, or leave the toner on for too long - 20 mins, in my case. My question is, how much toner do you use for your length? Please and thank you! Grandma Moses

Hi Kingsley, I am so happy that I trusted and watched your video. I bought everything you mentioned on your video and I and my husband and of course my best friend said that I did a better job than my stylist that I have been going to for 6 years. I would like to see your re-growth bleached again, as it hasn't lightened enough to get the orange out. Either that, or tone the regrowth so that it is cool and darker than the ends. I love the white blonde on you, but the regrowth is still too "hot" (brassy, reddish, warm).

A nylon or plastic cape (from Sally's) would be a better option than ruining clothes. Too easy and it can be washed off and used over and over. Does the purple shampoo cancel out the new growth hair which is more yellow than the tips?? I have natural gray hair now, and I find that the purple shampoo makes it look more contemporary and less old lady. Love your vids.

I love all your videos and have found the courage to clipper cut my own pixie I learn as I go along and hopefully will get better over time. One thing I do differently that saves me an extra step is rather than bleach my hair then apply toner I just use a high-lift blond color Revlon colorsilk ultra lift ash blonde and add a capful or 2 of the Wella Violet toner and my hair turns out a beautiful a lovely silver-blonde in just one step. So you bleach all of your longer hair every time you touch up the roots? How do you not experience breakage where you've overlapped bleach? The color is very pretty.

Thank you! I don’t every time, but when I do, I focus on the roots and bleach the tips last. I also get my hair cut every 3-4 weeks so my ends are cut off often :)

Girl, you always look on point. No matter how I try, I can't find a barber/stylist to give me your cut. And the last gal that tried to color it icy blonde was a disaster and I just told her to dump a color close to my natural color on it. So frustrating and at $230 a pop, expensive!
