RAM latency figures are a count of clock cycles. DDR5-4800 CL24 is the exact same CAS latency as DDR5-6400 CL32. It's 10 nanoseconds in each case.

We know that good sir, but that's absolute latency which speaks nothing of bandwidth. It is also not the entire story when it comes to performance scaling. How memory is accessed is as important as how quickly it's accessed. ;) When bandwidth constrained, latency will mean little.

can you use the XMP version of this KIT instead of the much more expensive expo configuration?

First kit I had was XMP only and not Expo. Had issues with it then received a 2nd Expo kit and It worked flawlessly. So based on that I'd stick with the Expo at least for Threadripper

update: i got the XMP version for this ram and it is working flawlessly on my threadripper build in full speed.

This sticks are reported to overheat and throttle on 6400 MT/s. How to cool this RAM?

I've not had any issues with overheating. Not sure if it's because of the airflow within the system, but no heat related or any problems here.
