Fun fact: confinement on diminished rations, aka “bread & water” is still an authorized punishment for lower enlisted ranks aboard US Navy ships. It’s a deterrent and a hard lesson not to screw up. I have a relative who was unable to attend my wedding and later cross the border after a stay (or2😮). 🇨🇦🇺🇸

Should still be open and full. Built by prisoners, for prisoners. Prisoners should fix it. Closing these places and moving them to more lax spits is just simply shuffling, and overcrowding. They should be moated and have bare necessities. Chain gangs should be reinstituted.
