KingSukamon VS Galacticmon!! | Digimon Card Game: BT-11 Dimensional Phase Outbreak (ROUND 4)

This is Round 4 of the Dimensional Phase Outbreak, a tournament featuring 12 decks from the 11th main booster of the Digimon Card Game: Dimensional Phase. The next two decks to clash are KingSukamon and Galacticmon. The Yellow/Black KingSukamon deck combines the motley crew of Chuumon, Sukamon and Etemon to provide a new twist on control that involves transforming the opponent's Digimon into Sukamon to inhibit their plays. On the other hand, the Black Galacticmon deck is also a control deck built around Vemmon, which can be run with up to 50 copies in a deck. By accumulating as evolution cards, they unlock the powerful effects of Snatchmon, Destromon and Galacticmon to create a near impenetrable defence of 14,000 DP that breaks the opponent's Security every turn and does not require Reboot to function. It's Digimon World 1 versus Digimon World 3. Who will outcontrol the other?

That outcome. That outcome hurt me. Even though I knew it was janky from playtesting, I was rooting for *that* deck so much. I got so hyped when it started looking like it might actually win the match on camera. At the start of that final turn, I was convinced the other deck was done. But when I noticed *that* card, and realised what it could do in that situation... I had to do it. It would have been a lie to pretend it wasn't there. Bandai please, *that* deck is so fun. It needs immediate support in BT-12. It needs an SR, no, a SEC, no, TWO SECs AND an SR. GIVE IT TO ME.

I am really rooting for Galacticmon and I hope it wins the tournament, but even so it hurts to see such a fun and janky deck like Sukamon losing. It's impressive how each of their strategies counters one another and the result of this is a very back and forth match. Good stuff.

The KingSukamon/Etemon combo is so potent, probably the biggest vulnerability Galacticmon has to a deck from this set. That climax was just brutal though.

Other than that, its big weakness would probably be beefy bodies it can't reliably remove without its on digi. It needs two Black Tais to be able to stop 16k beaters like Ouryuken or a fully-built X7.

This match was the equivalent of an underdog supporting character in an anime fighting the main antagonist, giving it everything they got in the best display of skill ever seen, and just needing 1 hit to finish off the villain, they die while standing up

WHAT A MATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What WERE those last turns, the only reason i wasnt on the edge of my seat the whole time is because it looked like Galactic was already dead thru several turns, and it managed to keep going anyway EVERY TIME. Man I had already been rehearsing my comment for Galactimon's loss, BUT THEY WON!!! And of course I cant not comment on the Sukamon deck!! If galactic was amazing for being able to pull comeback after comeback, Sukamon deck was amazing for putting Galactic on the backfoot turn after turn!! And that combo with Zwart was amazing, now i consider it the official level 7 for the deck!!!

oh boy i love this match so much the zwart combo is awesome with both kingsuka and ete it could delete anything, also the theme you put on galacticmon side is absolutely thematic the first appearance you use galacticmon theme 1, then on the second apperance you used the final theme against galacticmon boy feels like fighting galacticmon on the game itself love it so much

YES I had to use the Galactic themes. The loss by deck out really felt like even though Suka had enough damage, their HP bar was depleted first by Galactic's boss mechanics

Honestly i have to admit it was quite the treat seeing Sukamon play. Its one of those decks i am very interested in and Zwart was a tech i didnt think of but totally fits. Ophanimon Fall down would be an interesting choice since she can both go into zwart and revive sukamons. However due to how much this decks discards it might not be the best choice. It really needs to solve this issue XDD Anyways very clever list!

Yea Ophani Falldown was another option I considered, and even a potential Maste/KingSuka fusion build! But Maste is already being featured in this tourney, so I decided to focus on the deck's Black synergy instead

I, uh, huh, talk about a close call. But Galatic pulled through and will face Mieri and Mastemon in the Semi-Finals. Parrel World Tactician vs The Forgotten Enemy. That's going to be interesting. Round 5, Game 5: The Blue Wolf of the Moon, MirageGaogamon W/Petrov vs The Machine of Destruction, MachineDramon W/Analogman. Can Petrov make it to the Semi-Finals to hopefully meet Taiga in the finals and avenge Akiho? Or will MachineDramon decimate Petrov and advance? We are the finally stretch, with only 2 games left, it's anyone's ball game at this point. May the best Digimon and Tamer win.

Galactic doesnt just block, it redirects attacks! So unblockable alone wouldnt solve this matchup. And I do run Cooties Kick to turn KingSuka unblockable on multiple damage

It wouldn't work, since Destromon's inheritable simply redirects attacks without blocking them. It's similar to Magnamon X's effect from BT9, or in fact, the effect of BT11's Analog Man, who should be appearing in the very next match.

Actually, the last play from Galacticmon deck is really risky. It is unnecessary for Vemmon to attack KingSukamon's last security. If the last card appears to be a Digimon instead of tamer card, Vemmon would be deleted and hence no black color on board leading to cannot play the ultimate flare option which would made Kingsukamon winning the round.

Ok, i love Sukamon deck, just seeing an king suka becomin baihumon and then omni zwart made me break on laughs, also i love the mechanic of transformin another digimons in Sukamon its so funny and amusing! I'm sad that the outcome was deckout, next turn sukamon would be the winner. Im just sad that gallacticmon got so far,i dont really like the way this deck plays, i find it rather boring and expected, its like d-reaper but washed out? thats what i feel towards gallacticmon, even though i'm playing digimon world 3 rn

Galacticmon being able to block Sukamons deletion prevention tells me that Gaiomon should be able to do the same thing.

Well the thing is: GreymonX (both of them and the new AguX) specifies the digimon needs to have Greymon or Omni in its name. When KingSuka makes them lose their name and be replaced by Sukamon, you cannot use the GreyX protection anymore because you are not a Greymon anymore. HOWEVER, Gaiomon has that one line of text, the effect that you treat him as Greymon. Even if he becomes a Sukamon, he doesn't lose his effects, so yes he is still treated as Greymon, so the lvl 4 GreyX's protection can be used to counter the Suka deletion prevention inheritable.
