I will add that I do like the addition of tonal bass drums to military bands and glad to see the colorguard/flags ACTUALLY use them besides holding them. Good job Kingwood!

This was a very enjoyable watch! I competed at the competition yesterday with the Dawson band and saw you guys on our way to warmup at finals. Before yesterday, I had no idea what military marching bands were like so this video proved to be very educational to me. Congrats on making finals and I enjoyed the show.

Fabulous job. Unfortunately we only see small pockets of military style marching bands anymore. It is a welcome relief from all of those shows with the flashing lights on their hats, uniforms and props! I had much rather watch the pure marching style of this band than those others. I've enjoyed the Kingwood band videos on KZbin for several years now, and this year's group certainly doesn't disappoint. Congratulations to one and all involved in this outstanding program.

That's great. My favorites all seem to be in Texas. I keep discovering a new one to add to my list almost every day. I won't even begin to name them, but I do love Region 21, Region 10, and the region with Kingwood, Crosby, and Atascocita. BTW, have you watched the Seika High School Band from Japan? They do some fine playing and marching. They aren't purely military but their shows usually start out that way. I highly recommend their 2014 show. I believe that's the one where they play National Emblem.

It seems most of the high school military bands are located in East Texas (UIL Regions 4, 10, 21) with few exceptions like Atascocita, Kingwood, Montgomery, China Springs, Fairfield, and Ennis.

Micheal Hartman You obviously don't understand military style marching. Corps style is designed solely for entertainment, with props, computer/audio enhancement (Such as speakers or audio files playing when the band doesn't), and occasionally dancing. Military is a show of precision and speed, and is more traditional. At the finals we played the fastest and most difficult music by far out of the 10 bands, and we had no props or odd dance moves (like Spring and their dabs). We had people and their instruments. Nothing else. And Pepe is a meme, a form of comedy. Says nothing about what I know about things like this.

While I agree that military is certainly harder in it's own right, you certainly can't claim that your music was the "fastest and most difficult" out of all 10 bands... There were other bands marching at least equally challenging or harder music and tempos.

We were playing a different style of music, which were Marches, and they were much faster sounding than all the other bands. Corps style music is far different than military marches. Listen to Bluejackets on Parade or H.M. Jollies, even select parts of Carrollton and you'll see what I'm saying.
