[KiniNews] Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has cautioned civil servants not to be complacent as the national debt has reached RM1.2 trillion.
Anwar pointed out that the national debt, when including liabilities, amounted to RM1.5 trillion and this matter must be addressed immediately.
Therefore, he called on civil servants to do away with the culture of contentment and said that they have to accept the fact that things can no longer be business as usual.
He said if there is a culture of complacency, they would not be able to drive the desired economic growth.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, Anwar revealed that the MACC is fine-tuning the asset declaration system for top government officials.
Speaking to reporters in Putrajaya today, Anwar described the previous system as a "farce" and did not reflect the true wealth of some of the participants.

The huge debt is a big task for Anwar. First thing first, though not easy, is to confiscate all the assets millions of past corrupted politicians regardless of race or religion and send them to jail.

If Mr Anwar can investigate that Mahatir and his family's, Daim plus many of his cronies wealth, then there is a chance those ill gotten gains could be confiscated. Those illegal gains can be used to reduce part of the trillion debt.

@@zafir7007 Investigate all who used the government's coffers as their own piggy bank enriching themselves and their families at the expense of the rakyat. The only problem Mr Anwar has is where to start? Going after that big fish mahatir and his family would be a good start as he has put over 200m in an Israeli bank for all his children and wife while he openly tells the rakyat how bad the jews were so no one would look there. One son bought the Phillipines beer co for over 1.5b and the other son owns all the petrol stations in Malaysia. Not to mention this crook also sapu 207b paid to the rakyat who suffered under the Japanese occupation. Biggest crook of all. 40yrs of him in power has turned Malaysia into Maluysia causing unrest.

So every price in this world should exceed 2.9x value from original values, regardless of demand values & bit values! Auction & offered bit values are legally luck term for traders! Not new base value to increase ceiling value! Because the labor law clearly stated protected Malaysian workers are below rm2000 only! That mean all values should be calculated based on this 2000 only! Unless labor law allowed no max rate, then the traders, banks, creditors can increase the Operation costs! 5. Not impending cost of CEO until senior executives on end users costs!!! 6. Till today no pm, no mof, no BNM governor, no national treasurer, no mp, no king revealing those debtors!!! The truth is far from it. just a simple comparison : Afghanistan total debt is Usd 1.5 billion. Compare that with Malaysia Myr 1.2 trillion. It is no brainer that Malaysia is a safer bet than Afghanistan.

So what happen to the debt and what happen to the money that the citizens paid ? It's not a new story. While saying there is debt, there is still money for big projects and what not.
