Sabah problem is lack of electrical power. No power, no business can be created. Its a decades long problem because people just do not pay their bills so kack money to reinvest in the business. Sarawak was lucky with bakun dam. Which was sold cheaply to state. But sabah, even the planned 300 MW power station planned in sandakan was cancelled by DAP federal minister in 2018.how to progress without power. No power means no water too as it needs to be pumped. That means no hotels, factories and no jobs can be created. Hence poverty.

The problem with Sabah is the one in power does not fight for the people, instead want rob the wealth out of the people. Together with their cronies, they get a lot of lands, timber concession, timber out then plant palm oil. If you ever get the chance to visit the palm oil plantation around east coast sabah, there will be a lot of migrant living in worse condition, get worse pay, treated worst. Illegal migrant themselves are exploited by these cronies. Want more migrant worker instead local because of cheap pay. Now these cronies act like mafia around their operation area.

@@chanellover4491 I do meet some locals especially those at the rural area willing to work in agriculture industry or any hard labour work but yeah the problem is the wage. I met another local who have the skills to operate heavy machinery but could not get the job due to the pay is low. Companies is taking advantage of the illegal immigrants, some of the immigrants do have the same skills but they are willing to get small pay. So no way our local can compete with those immigrant. can you imagine minimum wages for driving trucks is maybe more than RM3k you can get at Peninsula while you have to accept RM 800 per month in Sabah, those immigrant willing to accept the pay maybe even lower than RM800. so no way our local would want those wages. This is the problem also with cronies companies.

I meet few locals who is multiskills and willing to do hard labour job but cannot compete with illegal immigrant due to companies unwilling to pay minimum wage to locals and usually employed immigrant due to cheap pay. I have few friends who can operate heavy machinery but have to go to Peninsula due to higher pay there, can get like more than RM3k monthly while immigrant willingly to get paid just RM 800 monthly or even lower just to operate heavy machinery. This is the problem in Sabah. Try visit palm oil plantation and ask the worker especially those migrant how much they get paid.

Betul tu. Kami yg suda lama di semenanjung ini sangat berharap Sabah maju dan mampu menawarkan pendapatan dan peluang seperti di semenanjung..tapi sebenarnya banyak suda putus asa melihat sikap ahli2 politik di sabah menghancurkan sosio-economic sabahan sendiri.. gila kuasa n harta dan tiada pendirian dalam berpolitik.

We Sabahan feel our natural resources should be protected by law n handle by independent body n under state Attorneys office to looks after the administration by laws. No one is allowed becomes their respective properties ...or taking advantage of it. The natural resources is belong to Sabah revenue. The politican was voted to sit in as a state administrator....
