Was there 3 weeks ago. Was visiting my Aunt who lives beside the temple. Went twice. Was so beautiful. Excelente video.

That’s awesome to have your Aunt living so close to such a beautiful place! Thanks a lot

Earlier this evening, I assembled a 3D puzzle of this temple, which I did in 3 hours. I put the finished temple in my man cave counter for display. It looks real nice and shiny.

Excellent video. You provide a nice summary of information to make it interesting. I also appreciated that you were honest enough to say while it is a beautiful temple and worth visiting once, it's probably not going to be something that you want to see multiple times (nice that you provided the website info if someone wants more info). Great job of pronouncing the names in Japanese ;)

Totally agree! It’s refreshing to see honest takes on these places. And yeah, the pronunciation was on point! It really adds another layer to the experience when they nail those names. Looking forward to more videos!

Totally agree! It's gorgeous, but once is probably enough for most people. And the website link is super handy for those wanting to delve deeper. Props to the creator for that and nailin’ the Japanese names! 😊

I appreciate you pronouncing all the Japanese names properly! How long would you recommend is enough time to spend there, and also I heard this temple is a bit out of the way/difficult to get to? Would you be able to explain how you got there? Thank you!
@WanderlustWellman Жыл бұрын
No problem, I always try my best to pronounce things correctly! And I would honestly recommend 1-2 hours tops here. I would recommend taking the bus from the downtown/central areas of Kyoto, Google Maps will you tell you where to go and which bus to take. Thank you!

Surprised that you couldn't name everything in one take! Yes, waking up early is key to visiting top sites.

You must think too highly of me then 😂! And agreed, although the ultimate key is getting to bed early the night before so I’m not a zombie while being there haha

Hi! Could you please comment on admission tickets? Where do you get them, how much and do you need to prebook? - thanks!
@WanderlustWellman Жыл бұрын
No need to pre book, I believe tickets are 500 or 600 yen, which is around $5. You can buy them right at the entrance
@jayone8891 Жыл бұрын
@@WanderlustWellman thanks so much! It's a silly question I know, but there is NOWHERE that actually explains where the dang tickets are located, thanks again! Great vid!

@@jayone8891 Not a silly question at all, sometimes you need to book things online and it is always more difficult to do these things in another country. Thanks for watching the video!

It's beautiful ... but my usual comments ... Shimogamo Shrine is much more historical and important in Kyoto... and, to me, Ginkaku-ji is more refined and beautiful ...

@@WanderlustWellman hmmm,... Shimogamo Shrine is dedicated to the protection of women,... they can buy small wooden " mirrors ", draw their faces on them and then offer them to the shrine ... strangely enough, there are few to zero foreign tourists here ...
