Girl, I love your energy & look forward to every upload... On WG going synthetic (didn't Tom Ford also? But they kept the same prices 🤷) I think both and hopefully Brands will consider inclusivity for the cruelty free/ non animal bi-products. But yes the Quality of these handcrafted brushes are 💯 the craftsmanship is unprecedented. And Wayne Goss is the OG of the OG...

Thanks so much for making videos on each set of high end Japanese brushes you've purchased! These videos have been so interestong and so helpful! I know you've already made a video suggesting the best of the best before you bought more hakuhodo and Wayne Goss sets. But maybe a few months from now could you please update us by letting us know your favorites from among *all* of them, when you discover which ones you reach for to apply particular products to each part of your face? I really love your channel! I joined a few months ago, and you quickly became a favorite influencer!! Thanks again!! 🙂

Thank you!!! Yes I believe Tom Ford did, and perhaps everyone thought the same thing was going to happen. Changing to synthetics without changing the price. I definitely don’t think that was the case with Wayne. Of course he doesn’t explain because he’s very nonchalant and doesn’t feel the need to I guess 🤣

These brushes are not for me because I prefer natural hair but he is attempting to fill a need and I personally think its a good business strategy. I will admit, when I first heard about them I was very confused as to why they needed to be hand cut and bundled. I understand why it's that way for natural hair but for synthetic it just sounded kind of gimmicky. However, after reading Sonia's article it makes more sense. I think it would probably help if he really pushed that explanation. Also, I thought your comparison to It Cosmetics was so on point. I mean, It be out here robbing people and no one blinks an eye lol (I'm being facetious there brushes are high quality and arguably worth the money). But Wayne brings out something which sounds to be even higher quality for around the same price and it's an issue. I think people tend to forget what's already on the market and what they're paying for it.
@keodi15 жыл бұрын
I agree, IT cosmetics charges so much for their brushes and no one says anything about those prices!
@aliciaarcher5 жыл бұрын
Yup! But again, they don’t bother to look into where products are manufactured and as you said just buy without knowing. And they see Wayne’s brushes and assume the circumstances are the same. I have plenty of synthetic bushes, and they don’t come close! I have a Luxie Brush that’s $48! And I love them, but in terms of performance Wayne comes out on top.
@jennym0075 жыл бұрын
Marlana Myers Yes. I got an IT Cosmetics foundation brush in a lucky bag, it was worth $48 but I couldn’t see the value. Nice brush but way overpriced. Whereas with Wayne’s brushes I’m thankful he keeps the prices so low because to me they are works of art.

I bought 4 sets of brushes on Prime Day a few years ago. I natural, 3 synthetic. I spent about $100 in total. All were trash. While I don't have the money to buy Wayne's brushes at the moment, I will buy the synthetic set because I think the price point is really good for a full set. Quality is so important when ones coins are short, as it's easy to purchase brushes that cost less, but won't perform as well nor clean up easily. Saving for a better quality set is money well spent, to me.
@aliciaarcher5 жыл бұрын
I agree! And I wish I held off buying ok brushes and waited to invest in Sonia and Wayne. Now it’s easy! Whatever brush that comes out, that’s not high quality I ignore. But I also appreciate that I have other brushes, so that I can recommend affordable alternatives to Wayne and Sonia brushes. I like Zoeva a lot!

Gurl gurl you and Mel have done the thang again🥰. Both reviews were ver y informative and your demonstrations on how to use each brush was, as always, on point. Once upon a time, not long ago, I would not, did not, believe that a brush could or would make a difference in makeup application or look. Needless to say, I AM NOW A BELIEVER 😜. I'm so very happy with these new brushes and especially for creams. Cuddos to Wayne for delivering a sublime option for all Vegans, those with allergies and wonderful brushes especially for liquids and creams. Because I have one very bizarre allergy to goat hair (goat cheese, too), I'm over the moon that Wayne Goss designed these so well and with excellent functionality. I intend to save up for these or to wait for him to offer them for sale as singles down the road. So far, I am a fan of Luxie and Elizabeth Mott synthetics. Real Techniques are very good as well, but are a bit large for my hooded almond shaped eyes that don't have much mobile lid space. I am dying to try WG's, though!

Another fantastic review! You brought up so much of what I was thinking. Ultimately, everything Wayne produces is special in it's own right. He takes different elements of makeup application and just does them so well. When he does blenders he does them to perfection, when he does powder brushes they are exquisite, and synthetics absolutely have a place in makeup application that he is now perfecting upon. I prefer synthetic for several products that I use and love. I will absolutely be adding these to my high end brush arsenal. Thank you so much for your thoughts. I truly can't get enough of this channel!

Even though I know the goat hair brushes can take cream and liquids, but I can't bring myself to use them with them with those products because I know I'll have to wash them more. @@michellecolon8293 When Wayne first launched his brushes, he claimed that you could use them with liquids and creams and I used one of the blue squirrel brushes to set a cream product and it made the hairs clump up. It took many, many washings to get it out and it's never been quite the same. I've been skittish ever since about getting any of my natural hair brushes in creams or liquids. I don't even like to use the white goat hair ones with vegan red shadows because they stain so badly and I like my brushes to be as white as they can be when I wash them.

Girl, I just love watching your videos, it' so much fun much better than any sitcom on television. As for me, I would pay what Wayne Goss ask for any of his brushes without question since he has generously consistently sacrificed for his craft, customers, and viewers with neverending adherence to excellence while maintaining complete openness. Inherent in the cost of any product is R&D utilizing specific expertise in the development and manufacturing of a product, not to mention advertising pulse paying the middleman while making a profit. Wayne is a humble British guy he won't talk about such things. But, he has a goal to buy his mom a house who sacrificed for him. Even with his business, he hasn't been able to do that yet because he personally makes so little profit. He, from what I understand, continue to work on that goal. So, asking $1000.00 for a brush set is ok with me since I've received much free advice from him over the years. I love you, Wayne Goss! Thanks, KinkySweat, you make my day every time.

Alicia, thank you for reminding us to disagree agreeably. Money and animal cruelty are both emotional topics and you beautifully set the tone for our discussion. As for the brushes, I’m excited to see QUALITY synthetic brushes. My skin is dry and cold weather only makes it worse. I’ve moved to cream foundation, highlighter, bronzer, contour & blush, but don’t like the feel of some of the synthetic brushes I have. Natural bristle absorb more product than I’d like. I hope these brushes will be sold separately because the Powder & Fan are speaking to me rather loudly and will be perfect for my “winter” makeup❣️

Completely off topic but the Sonia G brushes are restocking!! I know you loved the eye set and I can't wait to get them. I'll have to save Wayne's new brushes for another time.

When are they restocking????

Commenting because I want to know too when they're being released. I totally already blew February's beauty budget on the Sonia G face set, but I'll make it work somehow.

@@astarisborn9820 They are restocking tomorrow. They are also selling the brushes individually. The email I received said they would be getting another shipment at the end of this month as well. Edit: forgot to say the restock is at 10am pst

I have to look back on this video, but I think it’s the sigma soap!

I don't see how synthetic brushes are "cruelty free" because for the environment they don't biodegrade. A natural hair brush is better for the environment. I own a synthetic brush set, but I'm not going to say that it is environmentally friendly or cruelty free. I try to be conscious, but I'm also not going to judge someone for using either one. I love the video! You must be replacing old brushes, you have been on a kick! I find synthetic brushes are easier to clean and the application allows for less product usage. Natural hair brushes tend to be softer and help to blend or smooth product better than a synthetic.

Another great point, Cindy! And I would like to know if the Japanese fibre is designed to be biodegradable. It’s like Avocados: a staple in a vegan diet, but they use so much water to grow. And by February I’ll have a better idea of what I like more pertaining to brushes. I feel without a doubt that natural hair is best for powder application. But again, it’s not about me and what I like. For those who are allergic to animal hair, or choose not to use animal hair would appreciate a nice application. But I’m with you, and would rather use natural hair 🤷🏽♀️ I wanted to try the synthetic set, and I think Wayne has definitely set the bar higher. And yes, I’m going to need a garage sale for all my old brushes 💀🤣🙈

Actually, I was thinking (I know, dont hurt yourself Amy😁😁) and for anyone who feels that something synthetic isnt as good, it's not real so it's cheap, yadda yadda yadda, so why are they so much? It takes a lot more time and money to develop the kinds of materials used as bristles, the machines to make them, the people to operate the machines and training them to do so, the cost of buying all the "ingredients" that go into a synthetic fiber, etc etc etc etc. THEN once it's all made actual artisans have to put them together in the same manner as a natural hair brush. So if anything, synthetics should, from a business standpoint, be more than natural. They both take artisans to bundle and put together, but it takes a lot more time and money to develop a synthetic material than it does to house an animal you dont plan on allowing to live and ripping its hair out. Oooh, the visual there, sorry!!! I AM SO EXCITED TO TRY WAYNES SYNTHETICS!! They look like they work A MA ZING !!!! That highlight.......🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

synthetic brushes are made of plastic. period. i don't understand why environmentalists bash animal products so hard.

Wouldn’t it be great that they figure out a material that’s biodegradable? I don’t know if that would be possible, but perhaps in the workings?

I don’t understand why Wayne has to justify the price to some people.
@aliciaarcher5 жыл бұрын
I feel he doesn’t think to do so, but I was motivated to because I couldn’t understand ppl’s logic concerning the price. It was all based on assumption, and I knew there had to be a reason.

kinkysweat I think you did a great job of it. Really well done. 👏🏼 And what you said makes perfect sense. It’s just a shame people can be so critical. I think Wayne’s fantastic and he doesn’t deserve criticism. 💖🌸💕💖🌸💕
