Kinman: SurfMaster Zero-Hum Pickups for Jazzmaster™

If you're looking for a zero-hum pickup solution with a big, juicy Jazzmaster tone, I can highly recommend the SurfMaster Zero-Hum bridge and neck pickups from Kinman. There's no hum to be heard but buckets of tone on tap. These pickups seem to enjoy whatever amp you put them in front of, hence my selection of models today: Vibrolux, Deluxe Reverb, HIWATT - courtesy of the Axe-FX III.

Louder and more dynamic with greater presence than the FatMaster, this pickup has a full bodied sound with a powerful sharp twang and exceptional piano mid-tones. Love the Kinman's so much. I put the Surfmasters in my Jazzmaster awhile ago but later opted to put a Fatmaster in the bridge which takes a little spikiness off the top when playing through more gain, also with an Emerson custom harness (500k pots). The Jazzmaster with this combo of pickups is impossible to put down it's easily my favorite guitar now.

Is the Fatmaster louder than Surfmaster Extra on the bridge? I've got Surfmaster set and thinking of getting either Fatmaster or even Thickmaster

Nailing those tones with the Vibrolux...verb - yes indeed, some trem - sounds great, bit of drive - just keep going. 😆 I will definitely keep these pups in mind when I'm seriously considering swapping mine out. Excellent - thank you Brett. 😎😎
