Kinner Kailash is one of the most beautiful pilgrim trail in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Kinner Kailash pilgrim for 2022 was organized from 01st-15th August, 2022 by the state government of Himachal Pradesh.

The trek starts from the Tangling village (2000 m) in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. One needs to register online or offline in order to do the trek as limited number of people were allowed each day so as to keep the ecological footprint to a minimal.

Trek statistics:
Starting point: Tangling PHC (2000 m)
Mid-point: Ganesh Bagh (3700 m)
Kinner Kailash Shivling (4845 m)
Tangling - Ganesh bagh is 6.5 km with 1700 m elevation gain
Ganesh Bagh to Kinnaur Kailash Shivling is 5 km with 1500 m elevation gain

Total distance: 22 km
Total elevation gain: 3200 m
Difficulty level - moderate to difficult
.
Trekking tips:
a) Carry a light backpack as there will be accommodation and food options available at Ganesh Bagh during the pilgrim dates. The charges are around Rs 1200/- per person for all meals (bf, lunch, dinner) and tent (sharing basis).
b) Check the weather forecast
c) Break the trek in two days. The sunset at Ganesh bagh is very beautiful
d) Start very early (around 02:00 am) from Ganesh bagh to hike up to the Kinner Kailash shivling
e) Prefer doing the hike during the pilgrim as it becomes easy (no need to carry tent and food)
f) Make sure your body is properly acclimatized
g) Carry 2 Litre water per head from Ganesh bagh

I was staying at a hotel in Kalpa in 2021 November, and I had a view of the Kinner Kaiash. At the time, I thought "wow that looks like a treacherous peak, I wonder if people actually scale that?" and I find you Mr Creedaz (btw I've followed you for a year now) reaching the Kinner Kailash. @@visheshsaxena8758 I stayed at a hotel called Kalpa Deshang. They have sharing rooms and single rooms. I took a single room for 2 days. Total tariff for 2 days was around 4500 I think.

Kinnaur has some really good & challenging treks and hikes . Kailash Parikrama from Charang to Chitkul, Pangi to Yulla/Chagaon, Temso Lake, Manirang Pass, Ramni to Jabal, Lamkhaga Pass (Chitkul to Harsil), Nesang to Dubling (Quite close to Tibet), Asrang to Pangi, Nesang to Moorang, Kanam to Talling, Sunnam to Hango, Piri Dhar, Timche Dhar, Boak Kanda. Also there are lots of treks and hikes to high farmlands and mountain tops from almost all the villages of Kinnaur.

Thank you Swapnil for the info. However, many of these hikes are NOT allowed for independent trekkers. One needs to go with a guide and hence no motivation to document them. However, there are still many that can be documented and I will try and hike these in future.

Oh dear, I wish I had seen this video earlier. I had been planning to do this yatra for a long time . I had even taken leaves from my office and have time from 11th to 15th aug but there were some wrong information on the internet about no of days reqd to do this trek. On the internet it says that it may take upto 6 days to do this trek. So, I changed my plan. But, no prob the video was nicely presented. Aap ghum aaye aisa lga mene ghum liya. Thanks for the video.

But please meri speed ko reference mat banaiyega kyunki mein kaafi practice krta hu and bht kam weight carry krta hu so speed fast hoti h. 3 days leke jaiye is trek k liye. Day 01: Tangling to Ganesh Bagh Day 02: Ganesh Bagh to Shivling and back to Ganesh Bagh Day 03: Ganesh Bagh to Tangling.

If you choose the right season May - June and September - October toh aapko bht saari trails easily marked dikh jayengi. Baaki time ya toh shrubs ki growth ki wajah se ya snow cover honey ki wajah se trails nahi dikhti hein. Aap Manali me bht saari aisi trails kr saktey h. Bhrigu lake, Beas Kund, Patalsu peak, Khanpari tibba and Rani Sui lake, Mathiana to Sethan, Khaknaal naala trail, Gephan lake, Rangcha Gali, Lakes of Lahual etc

Hi Manav- Planning to do this yatra in 2024 - i am trying to gather information in google but some of them are misleading on the days and kms as well . 1) You mentioned about the camping facilities - shud we book in prior anything. 2) Plan is to stay in tangling Village and start the Yatra next day - this trek is part of self driven spiti circuit 3) Online registration - i couldn't find the link and on the dates when this will be opened - how soon it will be announced

1) No prior booking required but try reaching the campsite by 04:00 pm so that they are not full. 2) You can find stays in Tangling. Narendra Ji (7876030418) is from Tangling and he dropped me to Reckong Pio in his car after I finished the trek. You can call him and ask for more info. 3) Chandramohan sir is well known individual who is in the core committe and has the right info. He knows me well. You can ask him about the dates and registration process. Contact: 9418234004

You would still need to inform the authorities I guess. There was an accident that happened in 2019 and afterwards some rules were kept in place to avoid any mishaps in future. After seeing shrikhand kailas I had wondered y wud man create a pilgrim that is so very raw and difficult for his own kind...and to navigate the steep Boulder section both way up and down is killing enough....nevertheless the views and devotion gets u thru....probably it's lord shiva who gets u thru...👍🙏
