I was there in 2005 as a 16 year old. I remember standing by the main roads, watching the Syrian army retreat back to Syria after spending more than 3 decades in Lebanon.

Wow... I can imagine your emotion when you were watching it ! What thrilling moment to see your country free again.

It certainly was. Something I’d remember for the rest of my life. I ran into the withdrawal of Syrian forces all over Lebanon. I was happy for the Lebanese. So much optimism back then. It isn’t my country. I’m Emirati from Abu Dhabi. 🇦🇪 🫡✌️

Above certain elevations, trees just can't grow but the cedars of Lebanon.
@raymollyraymolly722 Жыл бұрын
At a certain time in history, this area was covered in cedar trees. The Phoenicians of Lebanon used to build their ships, and Egyptians made paper and other civilisations like the Romans and the Turks exploited the natural treasure for trade. In modern history, the cedar trees continued to get exploited. During World war I, British soldiers significantly cut down the tree population by exploiting it for the railroad.

Thank you Yves. Beautiful video. More Azub questions 🤓 Did your Rohloff come with electronic shifting? If so, how do you like it? Any issues?
@KinoYves2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Carl. And no, I don't have electronic shifting on my Rohloff, so I don't know about that.
