I am originally from Serbia, now living in LA last 28 years. I invited so many “Americans” at my home, some of them spent time with my parents and sister in Serbia, but I have almost never got invited by American to their home. Do you think that WEST has a chance to learn something from “Close tho the ground “ people from the EAST. (I follow your trip since you entered Republika Srpska, And I really like what you are doing)
@KinoYves3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for following my trip, and honestly, I don't think that the West will learn from people from the East, I think that the tradition of hospitality is lost in the West, and I don't really see how it could come back... the West keeps losing its traditions, and not the other way around, I think...

@@KinoYves it is sad but is true. I see a big difference between France at beginning at the 80s (when I was there first time as a student ) and now. I see liberal USA as world biggest enemy of traditional values. I will continue to follow your journey

@@milosandrejic5758 France has definitely changed a lot. Between the two world wars, France was famous for being a very joyful country (la joie de vivre), but this is all gone... now it's often just a boring country...
@kaanerdem28222 жыл бұрын
Thats very common with the anglo-saxon germanic tribes. İm born and raised in Belgium, even though i had very close relations with the locals, never got invited to their houses or even special days like birthday or wedding. France is different, they are more open when you go more to the south.

Best regards from Serbia to you and all the people who help you on the road. I wonder where this hospitality originated from? But it is definitely a very nice feature people have. Is it maybe my prejudice but seems like further you go from the west it only gets more humane.
@KinoYves3 жыл бұрын
I have no idea where this hospitality comes from. I think that traditional cultures are very hospitable in many parts of the world. Though, I agree with you, so far, the farer I go from the West, the more hospitable people are.
@kadircanyldran18493 жыл бұрын
maybe because of central asia or siberia where we originally from.Arabs says that its because of islam but not all islamic countries like that and before islam turks were known as hospitable too for a small example in turkish rule about 1000 years ago 2000 years ago as a turkish person if you find a child you have to find the parents if they are not exist you have to adopt the child like yours ,If you can't take care of the child you have to go to the khan and ask help if you let the child alone punishment is big in turkish society. In islam arabs are getting married with the 10 y.o 11 years old childiren.Arabs cannot teach anything about hospitality..
@KinoYves3 жыл бұрын
@@kadircanyldran1849 that's very interesting, thank you very much for explaining this rule during the ottoman empire. It definitely explains a lot about the deep roots of Turkish hospitality.

@@KinoYves This comes from the original Turkic religion called Tengrism thousands of years before Islam. Also why women are valued in Turkish society in spite of the influence of Islam after the 9th-10th century AD. Turkish language is gender neutral which shows that men and women were equal.
@KinoYves3 жыл бұрын
@@ohcaptainmy yeah, completely agree, the fact that Turkish language is gender neutral shows that women have been valued since a very long time in Turkish society, something very different to Arabic cultures where everything is separate, especially in the language. And thank you for talking about Tengrism, never heard about it before, good to know.

While in Turkey when you eat something and you pay for it, you can ask for more salad for free ( if you have finished it and want more... of you want you won't pay for it..) mont of the places will give you more salad. İt is teh same for bread too.. I think it is same in places like Irak too..
