(Kioshkokwi) Kiosk Lake in Algonquin Provincial Park has one the best waterfront sites in any of the Ontario Provincial Parks! Kiosk Lake is located in about 30 minutes south of Highway 17, North of Algonquin park and is located on the Kiosk Lake. Many interior camping/backcountry trips start here and there is parking everywhere! Algonquin park is the largest Ontario park and as part of this trip we drove around Algonquin park.
Kiosk Lake is a small campground with only 26 sites, most of them are waterfront sites, but are none are electric. There is no trailer sanitation station, no comfort station, no trails and no cell service with any of the providers, but it's an amazing nature serene experience, that you can't miss!
When at Kiosk and you are looking for an adventurous day trip, give tubing at Samuel De Champlain a try, it's amazing and located only 30 minutes from Kiosk!
We went to the park around the at the end of June of 2022

My husband and I were roaring with laughter about next years' supply of park wood! 😂 I'd love to do the river tubing - definitely going to look at this park for next year!

The tubing is amazing, invest in a good tube, it's rocky!

Looks like a beautiful spot. We love that type of small off grid campground. Fill up the fresh water tank, make sure the others are empty, make sure I have an extra battery and some solar panels, and good for a few days for sure.... As always, safe travels....

It is a great spot if you are trying to relax, enjoy nature and being off the grid as there is no cell service at all

That's messed up about the site # changes, because the pictures on the reservation site are still matching the old sites (eg. site 25 on reservations looks like what you showed as now site 23). I seek sites for doing astronomy and would want the site I 'reserved' based on pictures on the reservation system. I sure hope they update the reservation site asap!

Hi! QQ: In your opinion which water sites are the best ones for kids to swim off the campsite? Also which one has the most privacy but waterfront. We have a dog that loves the water and our kids love swimming to neighbours that are too close by may not work the best. Thanks!

For the kids swimming, the best spot would be at the beach (site 1-10), but are not necessarily waterfront, more water view and of course the dog is not allowed in the beach area. Site 9 has water access and is close to the beach, so this may be a great site for you as the dog can swim from the site and is very close to the beach. For privacy, 11-17, 23-26 would definitely be more private and great to have your dog swim from the site, but less ideal to swim from the site for the kids, certainly possible, but it's not as sandy and there will trees and other items outside of the beach area in the water Depending on your camping gear, if you have a tent or small tent trailer 11-17 is great, for a trailer bigger than a small tent trailer I would go for 23-26. I hope this helps!

Do i have to make reservation or i can just walk in there and camp?
@OntarioCamping
@OntarioCamping Жыл бұрын
Reservation for sure, this one is very remote so you may be ok without a reservation, but a reservation guarantees a spot

I believe the park office sells it, for anything more, there is an outfitter at the beginning of the road in, about 40km from the campground
