Brilliant! I'm going to do your mod on my 2610. I have also wondered if there is a way to actually lock it into place so it doesn't pop out every time you stop forward momentum. I get tired of having to reengauge it all the time. Maybe I can modify some sort of truck hood latch with a release lever???

The mechanism is super simple. I’m sure if you just took the spring out and used a bolt instead of a pin just the friction alone would hold it in the position that you want.

@@craftsmanslifestyle Never owned a tractor before and just bought the same model so pardon my ignorance. Isn't it designed this way to limit it's use to times when it's really needed.

Oh absolutely. Normally you wouldn’t want it on all the time. Depending on where your load is centered, it can your ability to steer. It will definitely tear up the ground more and it’s harder on the equipment if you leave it engaged all the time. With that being said, there are situations where you may need it locked for a good amount of time. If you are doing a lot of ground engaging work and loose soil or sand you may want it to be locked consistently. That’s just one example.

I think for me, not you...Some mods are getting crazy. We just want to hang stuff on these things. That is a bigger pedal to get in the way and hold more mud. Now I am a guy that uses my unit every day to chore so I have no goals of pretty, trendy or keeping up.

I totally understand that. I definitely do not baby my tractor. I use it almost every day as well. For me, I don’t have any mud on my property. It is all sand and just from experience the pedal has not got in the way. I could definitely see how it could not be for everyone though. Getting caked with mud would be a drag. @moriver1 want to thank you for being constructive instead of rude. 👍🏻

Is it normal on the 3 point raise and lower lever, to raise the implement you have to pull the lever all the way up to raise and THEN let it down into position where you want it. I got my brush hog yesterday and just noticed this. I wasn’t sure that if for example I,raised it from ground to like 2 or 3 if it should come up. Or if you gotta raise it up by pulling lever almost all the way up then letting down into position. I read the manual but it doesn’t really say. It just says pull back to raise up. Thanks in advance

I think it depends on the implement. It is really is relative to the lower 3 point link arms. The further your implement hangs below the bottom arms the further up you will have to pull the leaver to start lifting the implement.

@@craftsmanslifestyle yes, I figured this out after using some common sense. My 3 point will go down very far, past where the brush hog hooks up. I never had a reason to mess with the 3 point until I got the cutter. So once I realized that, it made sense. My cutter range on my lever is like 10 being the highest, a 1 inch cut it would be like 5-5.5 on the lever.
