A similar thing happened to me in Lima 15 years ago. I was tired and got a bit complacent after being in South America for a year and a cab driver stole my pack. He didn't get anything other than my dirty clothes, secondhand camping gear and 10 rolls of film (that I was furious about losing) as I had my valuables on me. He would have been better off waiting until I paid the fare.

2019 : I am not from Peru, but I am from Latin America and I feel a huge shame for what happened to you, my apologies on behalf of the good people that we are in this continent bro, unfortunately, here things are tougher and there are always bad people who try take advantage of foreigners, unfortunately, you can not trust your things to anyone while you are traveling in Latin America, the police are lacking, and they do nothing, a lot of strength and remember that all bad experiences happen to teach us something! KIPTOE force keeps it up!
