Death is a huge concept on this series, by example, how Pressident Haltmann got corruped and literally died just for trying to get his daughter back... and his daughter was in front of him the whole time. A good place to look is 0^2's final battle arena at the end of the game after you've collected all the shards. Is the area one big octagon or is it a fixed background that gives the illusion of being a circle when the camera rotates? And what about the black particles you see as well? i think the deep poem this was made by a worker who summarized sakurai and himself working because the whole idea of kirby that sakurai thought of was being thrown all over the place as something fans dont want, already had, wanted more of, etc. and sakurai really thinks deep with that and workers were making his game which made them follow very similar paths

I think they were going to use those first couple of lines from that poem is this is one of many Kirby games that start off friendly as usual, but the final boss is something dark or creepy, such as a deformed angel that cries blood in this game or a computer program that decides to destroy all organic life in planet robobot.

The reason the castle is only about 1/3 modelled is because the fewer triangles the better, especially on the N64. So there's no reason to add additional detail with processing load when the player normally never sees it. That's why the enemies are often made out of sprites and models simultaneously. It was cool though to see it actually mostly unmodelled with your camera hack. I'm not sure what the deal is with the camera going all wonky, except maybe they didn't bother to program the game rendering things at angles the camera would never normally go.

Great video! One question:. I remember reading in an old gaming magazine that Kirby 64 was going to be in full 3D while it was in development, and I thought I remember reading A) The previewer was disappointed in the controls and B) A screenshot was included that looked like Kirby as a 3D model in a desert. I haven't heard much about this since and was honestly a little disappointed in Kirby 64 since Superstar and Dreamland 3 were much more fun to me as a kid.

One neat thing about this game is the background you see when you fight Miracle Matter is different depending on whether you play on N64 or Virtual Console. On N64, it's purple, on Virtual Console, it's more of a white.
