I may have a bais towards a certain incarnation of destruction, it’s lore, and it’s music, but Fecto Elfilis deserves all the praise it gets. The fight is stellar, and the music... need I say more? Excellent cover!

In spectacle I prefer Fecto Elfilis for sure. But the set up for this boss encounter was incredible too. After the Dedede encounter and him saving the Waddle Dee’s booties. Medium-Hard confirmation this is indeed Earth with purposeful placement of a familiar language (depending on setting) when the game prior had a fictional voiced language. Then led down a wrecked corridor before meeting Leon leading a revival of Fecto Forgo, an escape after saving Elfilin from a disgusting monstrosity like The Thing or Resident Evil bosses. Elfilin getting consumed for fusion and led to the rooftop, and the sunset shot indicating this being is truly divine or a least presents themself as a holy deity.

Like Void has cool transformations on the exterior sections and feels like a true demiurge manifestation on the interior sections. But the amount of a shonen-level of cool and divine Fecto Elfilis gives is spectacular.

The only thing I didn't like about this boss was that it was easier than I expected Void was hard for a long time, but then I got the hang of it (you couldn't do a slow-mo dodge jump, just a small invincibility turn) But the attacks are very artistic and backgrounds also work symbiotic for this boss!

@@GamesbiteRtDL Disagree, I had more trouble with this the first time in the story than with Void, although I beat Fecto no problem now. But I’ve still yet to beat Chaos Elfilis’s 2nd form. And I’ve been playing Elden Ring before this game as the first Soulslike I really got into. Maybe with Void it could be less experience that was a factor? Or the time you played at or how many times you tried Void despite losing focus until you returned after a mental break.

Remember that this franchise started with Kirby trying to defeat a cartoon penguin because he stole food from a town. Somehow we transitioned from that, all the way to an ungodly fusion of Calyrex and Yveltal trying to absorb Pikablu so it can open up interdimensional portals to destroy the entire universe.

The first game had a penguin stealing food. The second had a big chin creature causing nightmares and said penguin trying to stop it. The third game had a sphere creature made of darkness trying to shroud the world in darkness, to which it possesses said penguin to do its bidding. Kirby already got kinda dark as of the THIRD game in the series.

The absolute tension from the song is upped even more from this arrangement, like if its taken from the game itself, need i say about the amazing transitions in 0:21, 1:44 and 3:39? What is this, its a pure masterpiece upon a masterpiece! Despite being an extremely long and difficult song, its definitely worth the time and effort. In my opinion the best parts of this song are from 0:11 and 0:33 as the constant moving in notes just gives you something good to hear. 1:44 and 2:02 is great to hear the harmonies piece together, and thats only a portion of the song, the videogame clips are insanely timed well and fit to the song, the changes to the song are not to crazy and intolerable, and the metal theme fits SO WELL into the song. Amazing work as ever!

The vast majority of Kirby villains up until now have had something that drove them to do the horrible things they do. Be it simple things like Sectonia's vanity and Marx and Magolor's lust for power, or deeper reasons like Hyness's resentment for being banished, Haltmann's grief over his daughter's apparent death and Star Dream's hatred of all life that came about from its observation of Haltmann's actions. Even the Dark Matter had a reason for starting their invasion, since they grew envious of the happiness of Kirby and everyone in Popstar - happiness and positive emotions being feelings they simply could not feel, no matter what they tried. Meanwhile, Fecto Elfilis came into this planet and started threatening all the wildlife, got captured, brainwashed a bunch of animals to do its bidding, consumed those same animals when its plan failed, then threw a whole planet at Kirby out of desperation. But it couldn't just be any planet - it had to throw Kirby's own home planet Popstar at him, purely out of spite. And why? Because Fecto Elfilis just woke up and chose violence.
