So with Kirby never giving dedede a push to improve (both combat and as a person), meta knight has so far been the only one fighting of all the threats to dreamland. Im assuming the fight with dedede was during revenge of meta knight in Kirby super star / super star ultra, because that was the point in the games where meta got fed up with dreamlands laziness. That means for one, that meta knight has at this point fought off at least nightmare, dark matter swordsman, and zero entirely by himself. Maybe Marx and dyna blade too. Plus with meta being the one doing all this he might have even fought galacta knight. Then revenge of meta knight happend, and without Kirby to sink the halberd basically instantly it turned into a grueling war that dedede somehow still won. I’m very curious to see how this continues. Meta could probably manage the squeaks and magolor, maybe even sectonia. but we know for a fact enemies like dark mind from amazing mirror or haltman from robobot are too much for him to deal with alone. Most of the characters involved never become friends without Kirby. There has been no trace of gooey or the animals so far. Marx, magolor, taranza and Susie are unlikely to be forgiven for their crimes without Kirby either. It’s very interesting to see an alternate Popstar without Kirby and the consequences that has. There’s also the fact that with at least super star having happened at this point, Kirby 64 is up next and we just got introduced to ribbon…

Tbh I don't know if marx or magolor would even attempt their ploys here, there's no naïve hero like kirby for marx to easily trick, and the reason magolor went to popstar at all is because he was told about kirby (probably by marx)

I mean, that might not be a case. Remember that a number of these end bosses for each of the game often exist... because it was Kirby's 'fault', being he is often quite easily manipulated due to his naive nature. Nightmare came to be after Kirby attempted to repair the Dream Rod back to the Fountain, which was formerly done by Dedede in order to protect dreamland from said Nightmare. In this case, as Marx only became a problem due to him manipulating Kirby in the first place in order to gain 'power', I think the general issues would mostly be just Zero and his many legions of dark matter. As for something like Taranza and Susie? I mean, that is kinda a crapshoot; although the canon variants of their respective games have them be saved by kirby, they each also had either Dedede or Meta be the main protagonist in the 'un-canon' games, where Kirby was absent. Could be a case where, due to Kirby not existing and the two having to deal with a lot of problems without the pink puff? Might be that if said people were a factor and aren't a potential 'future' problem in this series, then they could have dealt with said problems due to having to pick up where Kirby is absent. As for the Kirby Friends? I mean a lot of them were people that originally befriended Kirby, so it would be harder for them to take action since they did it mostly with support with their friendship. The only question is how would they have even dealt with said Zero and Dark Matter, due to most of them being beaten by... Deus Ex Machina, in all three of the games they are in. Although if Ada and Rib (along with Dedede and maybe whoever) found the Crystals that were used in N64, there is still Dreamland 2 and 3s that would be an issue.

I honestly think that while meta knight has been dealing with most threats he seems to be specifically saying that he's delt with ones not actively on the planet hence the halberd and the fact he seems to be mostly absent in this series. Dedede keeps to himself and as meta knight points out is lazy and self serving having basically never grown out of that stealing food phase and while there did seem to be some sort of grand battle maybe even civil war it seemed to end in a stalemate given the lack of dialogue I can't tell if meta knight told him something that made dedede realize his circumstances or if something greater was happening and thus meta couldn't keep fighting I'm thinking the former given the description text of this video and while we have seen ribbon in this series were yet to see if zero was ever per sae delt with Adeline is still here and ribbon isn't on popstar because of the crystal shards so that event might have not even happened yet if at all if you want my head canon At this point nightmare and dark matter swordsman were most likely fought off by meta knight dynablade possibly as well given meta knights role is more souly aimed towards defending Dreamland Marxs story and galacta knights fight most likely never happened as while meta's quest to eliminate laziness most likely sprouted that civil war and ended with that fight with dedede he's never had the time to seek out nova and fight galacta simply for the seek of challenge especially since hes dealing with threats to popstar by himself and given Marx's story hinges on getting kirby to resolve things his plot most likely never happened either and given the timeframe based on ribbon seemingly being older and crystal stars not seeming to be referenced outside of ribbon it's most likely that this series is in a bit of a limbo being before crystal shards at some point but it's hard to tell based on what meta knight has talked about who has come around beforehand all I can really assume is the squeaks because of the pet Adeline has I think was introduced in squeak squad giving the animal ability but again that story hinges on Kirby as well as dededes treasure being stolen but given how much has changed who knows if the squeaks even stole dark nebulas chest in the first place

I was a fool to NOT expect Meta Knight to appear in this series! I love your “advanced-tech” take on his combat skills! Almost as if he had to upgrade for the sake of keeping up with defending Pop Star. Speaking of which, I could be completely off the mark here, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take. It’s obvious that the inspiration for Meta Knight’s invasion came from Super Star (Meta Knight’s Revenge), but unlike the game where the, “Dream Land’s lazy lifestyle will end. I shall rule!” motive came out of nowhere and was never explained… …you gave it context by establishing that Meta Knight was fending off galactic threats left and right, then wanted to overthrow Dedede because he thought HE was lazy.

Wonderful episode and fantastic art and designs! This is a wonderful take on Meta Knight. As a child I never knew much about him as a character my first introduction to him was Amazing Mirror; this is probably as close as it gets to how I imagined his story back then. A victim of being a hero in a never-ending series of battles to the point he needs the strongest of technology and physical advantages to be the warrior the world sees and needs him as. I can only imagine if in this world what kinda nightmare would transpire if any major villains were to succeed or if the seal on Galacta knight were to break.

I really love the world building you did with this episode where the chaos in Dreamland started not just because dedede was a greedy king stealing food but because of his altercation with meta knight pointing out the fact he was moreso lazy and unreliable at the time. Also the reveal Adeleine was supposedly one of the invaders meta knight was supposed to stop adds another layer to what they could've been fighting about it's all so amazing and feels really thought out you really upped the ante with this episode and I can't wait for the next installment 😁👍

That's when Adeleine says that if invaders land on Popstar, she would take care of them, making Meta Knight realize that the newer generation is now here to help!

I'm so happy!!! The Battleship Halberd along with it's owner is so intimidating and cool!! But man, DDD really did screw up didn't he. Poor MK, just doing his duty as per usual, but even he needs help sometimes. I loved seeing the lore behind this, and the clearing up of misunderstandings! The offering of dinner was so nice and gives me warm fuzzy feels! Hopefully now that Ado and her 10 babs are aware of the situation, things may take a turn for the better!
