Kirbys return to dreamland uses similar if not identical sound samples as Kirby super star, Kirbys dream land 3, and Kirby 64, which makes it super easy to replicate the sound of the original songs!

it's cause they're possibly songs from one of the cancelled games, which likely used a higher quality version of the soundbank used by the GBA games and Squeak Squad, which was using samples from Super Star, DL3 and 64 aswell as Canvas Curse

@@callmeninaiced I am inclined to believe this, even Ando's beta pieces sound like what Ishikawa used to make in earlier games. From Triple Deluxe onward, Ishikawa didn't really adopt this style either.

@@pit_solitayrh3718 no there's proof of it, besides the songs that clearly are from GCN there's tracks prefixed with "Kby" or "KbyW", This prefix isn't RTDL's as that one is "IUK", as evident by the music stream file within the files which is called that way, later games are more consistent than RTDL with it's internal filename prefixes, also all of the songs with that prefix are older early versions of the Kirby 64 or Squeak Squad styled ones, so KbyW quite possibly could be the second or third attempt at GCN

@@callmeninaiced You clearly did your homework. Fascinating stuff... it seems HAL takes their time a lot making games, and the GC game didn't come to fruition because the Wii came too fast and they had to restart development (I looked it up, 3 iterations of Kirby GCN were being made at some point). Star Allies could have been a Wii U title rebranded too, but some things makes me doubt it.

This is amazing cause it really doesn't sound like an SNES track. You could throw this in any game and only a really trained ear I think would tell it's 16 bit. This is godlike :]

Return To Dreamland really did have some of best pieces of Kirby Music. This arrangement sounds really good for it been SNES-ified.
