Those first few seconds are perhaps the most innocently sweet opening I've evver seen in a video game. The stoic character is reading a book on a small hill. The series antagonist is trying to steal the hero's cake. Then all four of them decide to stop what they're doing and help a random stranger build his ship. How much effort do you need to put in to make something this overwhelmingly cute.

Magolor feels more tragic since it's implied he genuinely liked Kirby and only truly became evil rather than just greedy due to the Master Crown posessing him. His final form even screams Kirby's name when defeated, as if remorseful.

I like how with this game's release, HAL really stepped up their storytelling game for mainline entries (by Kirby standards). After beating Kirby Triple Deluxe, I hope HAL *NEVER* takes Kirby games down to Squeak Squad level plot again. (Still a great game though). Stuff like this really fleshes out the Kirby universe IMO.

Funny story, this was my third video game growing up with the Wii, my first video game console (first being LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, and second being New Super Mario Bros.
